Ministry of Health recalls and requests destruction of Thuan Moc skin cream batch

On November 12, the Drug Administration of Vietnam (Ministry of Health) issued a document requesting the suspension of circulation, recall and destruction of a batch of Thuan Moc skin cream after discovering that the product did not meet standards.

In a document sent to the Department of Health of provinces and cities and Hoa Binh Pharma Joint Stock Company (Address: Dong Se Village, Luong Son Commune, Phu Tho Province; Tan Van Xuan Pharmaceutical and Cosmetic Joint Stock Company (same address), the Department of Drug Administration said that according to the report of the Center for Drug, Cosmetic and Food Testing, Department of Health and Food Safety of Ho Chi Minh City, the test sample of Thuan Moc Skin Cream (box of 1 tube of 21g, batch number: 12/2024/NHB, production date: September 10, 2024, expiry date: March 9, 2027) showed results that did not meet the testing requirements for microbiological indicators.

The recalled product was manufactured by Tan Van Xuan Pharmaceutical and Cosmetic Joint Stock Company and was brought to market by Hoa Binh Pharma Joint Stock Company.

Based on the test results, the Drug Administration requested to suspend nationwide circulation of the violating Thuan Moc Skin Cream batch.

The Drug Administration of Vietnam requests the Department of Health of provinces and cities to notify cosmetic businesses and users to immediately stop trading and using and recall and destroy all batches of violating products;

At the same time, inspect, supervise the implementation and strictly handle violations according to regulations.

For Hoa Binh Pharma Joint Stock Company and Tan Van Xuan Pharmaceutical and Cosmetic Joint Stock Company, the Drug Administration requires the two units to send recall notices to all distribution, business and product usage establishments; receive returned products, recall and destroy the entire batch of substandard products; report the recall and destruction results to the Drug Administration before December 5.

The Phu Tho Provincial Department of Health is assigned to closely monitor the process of recalling and destroying products of the two companies, while also checking compliance with legal regulations on cosmetics production and trading, and handling violations (if any).
