The Ministry of Health requested an e-commerce platform to remove the unlicensed MINAMI 12kg weight loss food.

The Ministry of Health requires Shopee to immediately stop selling and remove information about the 12kg Minami weight loss food that reduces belly fat that is being sold.

On November 12, the Department of Food Safety ( Ministry of Health ) said it had sent a document to Shopee Company Limited regarding the management of functional food business on e-commerce.

Through post-inspection of the implementation of regulations on registration of declarations and self-declarations, production and trading of functional foods, the Department of Food Safety determined that the 12kg Minami weight loss food to reduce belly fat is being advertised and traded on the Shopee platform.

Through looking up data on the issuance of product declaration registration certificates, the Department of Food Safety confirmed that it did not issue product declaration registration certificates No. 5438/2024/DKSP dated July 12, 2024 for the above product of HKK Trading Company Limited (No. 69 Nguyen Huy Quang, O Cho Dua Ward, Dong Da District (old), Hanoi ).

The Food Safety Department requested the removal of unlicensed weight loss products on e-commerce platforms.

The Food Safety Department emphasized that the business of functional foods must strictly comply with the 2010 Food Safety Law and Decree No. 15/2018/ND-CP.

To ensure user safety, the Department has requested Shopee Company Limited to stop trading and immediately remove information about the above product "MINAMI 12kg weight loss belly fat reduction".

Urgently review the business of functional food products. Only products that have been granted a certificate of product declaration registration by a competent state management agency or have been published on the Food Safety Data Information System in accordance with regulations may be traded.

Report the results in writing to the Food Safety Department before November 17, 2025.

The Food Safety Department also reminded Shopee to seriously implement the Department's previous documents issued in 2024 and 2025 related to the management of functional foods on e-commerce platforms.

The Food Safety Department requested the Department of E-commerce and Digital Economy - Ministry of Industry and Trade to notify e-commerce platforms to stop trading and remove advertising information of violating products, and handle violations according to regulations.

At the same time, to ensure market management and prevent the trading of illegal products, the Food Safety Department also sent a document requesting the National Steering Committee 389 to review and handle the case according to its authority.

The Food Safety Department recommends that consumers do not buy or use the product "MINAMI 12kg weight loss belly fat reduction" and report to the nearest authorities if they detect any violations of food safety.
