President Luong Cuong stressed that the King's visit is of great significance, creating new momentum and promoting the Vietnam - Brunei Comprehensive Partnership to become more substantial and effective.
Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah shared about Brunei's development orientations, focusing on developing the fields of AI, green economy , and circular economy. The King affirmed his appreciation and desire to further develop the Comprehensive Partnership between the two countries.

Vietnam encourages Bruneian investors to participate in building an international financial center, infrastructure, energy, tourism and services in Vietnam. Brunei agreed to share experiences with Vietnam in the field of Halal, consider mutual recognition of Halal certificates, and develop projects to produce Halal food and products in Vietnam.
Brunei continues to facilitate Vietnamese companies in providing oil and gas services and participating in oil and gas exploration activities in Brunei's waters; and encourages Brunei corporations to invest in oil and gas exploration and exploitation in Vietnam.
The two leaders affirmed the importance of defense and security cooperation in the context of many regional challenges, agreed to share experiences and expand cooperation in crime prevention such as drug smuggling, human trafficking, illegal migration, terrorism, cybercrime and money laundering.

The two sides also agreed that maritime cooperation is an important area that needs to be promoted; they welcomed the signing of the Memorandum of Understanding on Cooperation in the Fisheries Sector and the Memorandum of Understanding on Cooperation on the Use of Hotlines for Information Exchange on Illegal, Unreported and Unregulated (IUU) Fishing. The two sides agreed to effectively implement agreements, dialogue and share experiences and information, as well as address security challenges at sea to ensure security and safety at sea.
The two leaders also agreed to expand cooperation in education, culture, tourism and people-to-people exchange to contribute to strengthening ties and mutual understanding, contributing to comprehensively promoting bilateral relations.
The two sides highly appreciated the two countries' active coordination and mutual support at multilateral mechanisms, especially the United Nations and ASEAN; agreed to strengthen solidarity and unity within ASEAN, and together with ASEAN countries, contribute to maintaining peace, stability and development in the region.
Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah affirmed his support for Vietnam in its role as rotating Chair of the Comprehensive and Progressive Agreement for Trans-Pacific Partnership (CPTPP) in 2026 and its successful hosting of APEC Year 2027.
Meeting with the Sultan of Brunei, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh emphasized that Vietnam always attaches importance to promoting the Comprehensive Partnership with Brunei, hoping that the relationship between the two countries will continue to develop to a new and increasingly substantive height.

Economic cooperation has developed remarkably with bilateral trade turnover in 2024 reaching nearly 671.4 million USD, an increase of 165% over the previous year, exceeding the target for 2025. Cooperation in security, defense, agriculture, fisheries, oil and gas, Halal, tourism, and education is very effective.
Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh suggested that the two countries promote economic, trade and investment cooperation in priority areas such as oil and gas, chemicals, Halal food processing, tourism and people-to-people exchange.
Vietnam always attaches importance to and has taken many strong measures in preventing IUU, hoping that Brunei will continue to closely coordinate and support Vietnam in developing a sustainable marine economy.
Agreeing with Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh's proposals to strengthen relations, the Sultan of Brunei suggested that the two countries promote cooperation in energy, seafood exploitation, Halal and people-to-people exchange.

Discussing regional and international issues, the two sides agreed to closely coordinate at international forums such as ASEAN and the United Nations, especially maintaining ASEAN's common stance on regional issues such as Myanmar and the East Sea, contributing to maintaining peace, stability and development in the region and the world.
Meeting with Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah, National Assembly Chairman Tran Thanh Man highly appreciated the visit, which took place at a time when the two countries are making efforts to effectively implement the action program for the 2023-2027 period.

The National Assembly Chairman believes that the visit will create new momentum to promote the Vietnam - Brunei Comprehensive Partnership to become increasingly substantive and effective.
Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah said that the legislative bodies of the two countries regularly exchange delegations at high and all levels, which has contributed to deepening and becoming more practical in parliamentary cooperation. The Sultan suggested that the legislative bodies of the two countries strengthen bilateral cooperation as well as closely coordinate at inter-parliamentary forums.

National Assembly Chairman Tran Thanh Man agreed to strengthen cooperation between the Vietnamese National Assembly and the Brunei Legislative Council, especially exchanging experiences in legislation, supervision and parliamentary cooperation.
