Poetic and romantic scenery
I still remember the days of my first summer vacation in Ho Chi Minh City. At that time, there were not as many buses as there are now and the trips to Bu Dang were also rare. I stood waiting for the bus with my parents, but there were some buses that did not even know where Bu Dang was. The buses were so rare that when we did catch them, we had to squeeze in, sit on the bus, jostling with potholes, and after more than 6 hours of traveling home, everyone was exhausted. In 2004, when I became a student and started studying away from home, the stories we told each other when sitting together were about our hometown. And now, as adults, whenever I have the opportunity to go anywhere on business trips, I always invite people I know to come to my hometown to explore the beautiful countryside with Bu Lach grassland, Voi waterfall, Dung waterfall, Stieng ethnic cultural reserve in Bom Bo and Nua Lon base...
Bu Lach grassland in Dong Nai commune, Bu Dang district
Bu Lach grassland in Dong Nai commune is considered a masterpiece of nature. With about 20 connected grasslands, the largest of which is nearly 100 hectares, this place embraces a clear blue lake, home to many species of freshwater fish. The peaceful space, the sound of wind and forest birds create a feeling of relaxation. Coming to this place, people also have the opportunity to learn about the unique culture of the M'nong and Stieng people living around the grassland. Bu Lach not only brings natural beauty but also a place to experience the simple and rich life of local people, promising to be an ideal destination for those who love to explore. Village elder Dieu Tol in village 5, Dong Nai commune said: “Bu Lach grassland is closely associated with the lives of the ethnic minorities here. In the past, the grassland was not only a place to provide wild vegetables and graze livestock, but also a place to organize community activities, so it was always preserved by the people.”
When coming to Bu Lach grassland, visitors will be immersed in the cool air and poetic landscape. Visitors can stroll around the grassland, freely admire, take pictures, or walk around the peaceful lake, enjoy the fresh air. Go into the forest to explore, pick sim fruit and admire the colorful rhododendron flowers. Following the trails of the local people, visitors will admire the rich vegetation and many species of orchids hanging on the trees, or join the M'nong and Stieng girls in picking wild vegetables. Just crossing about 100m of forest, visitors will encounter other grasslands and one day is probably not enough to explore all the beauty here.
In addition, the grassland is also a place to hold festivals and community activities of the Stieng and M'nong people, giving visitors rich and memorable cultural experiences.
“In addition to the majestic natural landscape with forests, mountains and waterfalls, Bu Dang also stands out with the unique cultural features of ethnic minorities such as the Stieng, M'nong and Chau Ma, who have long lived here. Traditional festivals such as the new rice celebration, buffalo stabbing ceremony, along with other unique customs and practices create a diverse and rich cultural picture.” Ms. THI DIEU HIEN, Vice Chairman of Bu Dang District People's Committee |
The cuisine here is also an important part, helping visitors feel more clearly about the lives of the people. Unique dishes such as thut soup, hybrid wild boar meat and wild vegetables not only bring new flavors but also contain the cultural and historical stories of the locality. The harmony between beautiful nature and unique culture of Bu Dang promises to bring visitors unforgettable experiences, affirming Bu Dang as an attractive destination in the journey to explore the land and people of Binh Phuoc .
About 7km from Duc Phong town center, Standing waterfall is uniquely created by nature, has a wild beauty and is known as one of the most beautiful waterfalls in Binh Phuoc province. Located on the flow of Dak Woa stream in Doan Ket commune, Bu Dang district, the waterfall flows strongly among the vast green of forests and fields. The sound of the waterfall echoes throughout a corner of the forest. In 2014, Standing waterfall was ranked as a provincial-level scenic spot by the Provincial People's Committee and quickly became an attractive destination for young people on weekends.

Unique culture
My childhood days in the countryside of Bu Dang were full of hardships, so when I grew up and went to school far away, I learned to love and miss the rustic, simple things in my hometown. Now that I'm grown up, I like to travel to many places, but when I'm far away, I miss and love them. A Bu Dang in my heart is full of nostalgia. Not many people know about Bu Dang, but just mentioning the melody of the song "The sound of pestles on Bom Bo village" by the late musician Xuan Hong, everyone knows. That's my hometown - Bu Dang with a place name that has gone down in history - The sound of pestles on Bom Bo village.
In October 2015, the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Binh Phuoc province inaugurated the Stieng ethnic cultural conservation area in Bom Bo commune, an important project to preserve the cultural and historical values of the Stieng people, while creating a unique tourist destination for Bu Dang district. The conservation area is about 113.4 hectares wide. This is not only a space for preserving culture and architecture but also a "red address" to introduce the heroic history of the Bom Bo commune people in the struggle to liberate their homeland.
Ms. Thi Xia in Bom Bo hamlet, Binh Minh commune, Bu Dang district said: “Since the conservation area was inaugurated and put into operation, the daily life and economy of the people have changed significantly. People are increasingly aware of preserving and introducing the unique cultural features of their ethnic groups to friends inside and outside the province, especially international tourists when visiting Bom Bo hamlet.”
Those who come to the Stieng Ethnic Cultural Reserve in Bom Bo will experience the traditional craft products of the Stieng people in Bom Bo; enjoy dishes bearing the mark of the Stieng people such as leaves, bamboo shoots, wild vegetables, bamboo shoots, crossbred wild boar meat, free-range chickens and thut soup... In addition, when coming here, visitors can also participate in dances, singing, and gong performances performed by the Bom Bo youth art troupe. In particular, visitors can mingle with the Stieng boys and girls by the flickering fire, enjoy the sounds of gongs, cymbals and rice pounding pestles, and raise a cup of rice wine together to foster solidarity.
Bu Dang - a land not only has beautiful scenery and unique culture, but also has honest and lovable people. Time will be the most valuable measure to prove this.
