Warmth of love at the train station
The hearty, well-prepared meals featured many dishes that were "better than usual," such as boiled chicken with lime leaves, chicken braised in fish sauce and garlic served with sticky rice with corn and mung beans, red snapper in tomato sauce, steamed rice rolls, sweet and sour beef salad, spring rolls, bitter melon soup stuffed with meat... all with a familiar, home-cooked flavor. Amidst the station area, lively conversations, clinking of soft drinks, and stories about work made the lunchtime atmosphere even more cheerful and cozy.
For many railway workers, this is not just a meal, but also a gesture of care and sharing from the Trade Union after hard days of work ensuring the safety of each train. The relaxed smiles and everyday conversations around the table demonstrate the practical significance of this activity. The "Trade Union Meal" at Le Trach station not only provides energy for the workers but also contributes to team cohesion, helping them feel more connected to their work and the company.
Ms. Bui Thi Anh Hong, a level crossing guard at Quang Nam - Da Nang Railway Joint Stock Company, shared that what she felt most strongly after the meal was the closeness between the leaders and the workers. "We work in shifts, so we rarely have the opportunity to sit together like this. Everyone ate and chatted, so the atmosphere was very joyful and warm," Ms. Hong said.
Meanwhile, Mr. Nguyen Van Chung, Head of the Le Trach Railway Station, said that the nature of railway workers' jobs involves frequently working outdoors, enduring the heat and pressure of ensuring train safety, so timely support and encouragement are of great significance to the workers. “Although the meal is simple, it helps the workers feel the care and support from the Trade Union and the unit. After hard work, sitting together and chatting makes everyone feel more relaxed, thus giving them more motivation to stay committed to the profession,” Mr. Chung shared.
"A company's most valuable asset is its employees."
Speaking at the "Trade Union Meal" program, Chairman of the Vietnam Railway Trade Union, Ha Trong Thang, affirmed that workers are the most valuable asset of any enterprise. Therefore, caring for, looking after, and showing gratitude to workers is not only the responsibility of the Trade Union but also the responsibility of each enterprise.
According to Mr. Thang, in the railway industry, each person holds a different position and has a different task, but they all share the responsibility of staying close to the trains, stations, and tracks to ensure the safety of every train journey. It is the quiet dedication and sense of responsibility of the workers that has contributed to keeping railway transport operations running smoothly.
The Chairman of the Vietnam Railway Trade Union stated that in the coming period, the Trade Union will continue to accompany and better care for the lives of workers by improving working conditions, supporting union members in difficult circumstances, and organizing more cultural and sports activities to enhance the spiritual life of workers.
Specifically, in celebration of Workers' Month 2026, the Vietnam Railways Corporation's Social Fund will allocate 3 billion VND to renovate the toilet facilities for workers at units within the industry.
Mr. Nguyen Van Tung, Chairman of the Trade Union of Quang Nam - Da Nang Railway Joint Stock Company, said that in recent years, the company has always focused on improving working conditions and taking care of the lives of its employees. Currently, all level crossing areas are equipped with a clean water system for daily use. From 2023 to the present, Quang Nam - Da Nang Railway Joint Stock Company has invested in the construction and repair of many items such as the bridge and road office building in the Le Trach station area and the Tra Kieu building area.
In 2026, the company plans to continue upgrading and constructing the station on the Hai Van I route, along with several other areas, with a total budget of approximately 1.45 billion VND. In addition, regular health check-ups for employees are conducted in accordance with regulations, contributing to employee peace of mind and long-term commitment to the railway industry.
At the "Trade Union Meal" program, the Trade Union presented many practical gifts to care for the lives of workers, such as providing 96 million VND to renovate and repair toilets, and upgrade working and living conditions. Additionally, they provided 3 fans and fresh milk to help workers improve their health during the hot weather.
Quang Nam - Da Nang Railway Joint Stock Company also presented many meaningful gifts to union members and workers in difficult circumstances, demonstrating its care, sharing, and support for workers during Workers' Month.
