This is Bulgaria's first win at Eurovision since participating in the competition in 2005. The Bulgarian representative received a total of 516 points, leading in both the judges' and audience voting.
According to the official results from the Eurovision website, Israel ranked second with the song "Michelle" performed by Noam Bettan. The remaining positions in the top 5 were held by Romania, Australia, and Italy, respectively.
Bulgaria won the Eurovision Song Contest thanks to a highly ceremonial staging.
Dara described the winning song, Bangaranga, as "pop music with folklore bones"—pop music with the structure and spirit of Bulgarian folklore. Many international critics noted the performance was impressive thanks to its richly ceremonial staging, inspired by Balkan folklore combined with modern EDM.

The moment the results were announced also created a major climax when Bulgaria overtook Israel in the final televote rounds. According to the Eurovision website, Dara's victory also set a record for the largest point difference in the competition's history, with a gap of 173 points over the runner-up.
Eurovision 2026 was also the most controversial tournament in recent years, with five countries – Ireland, Spain, the Netherlands, Slovenia, and Iceland – boycotting the competition to protest Israel's continued participation amidst the Gaza conflict. Some small protests took place around the venue in Vienna, but the final night proceeded as planned under tight security.
Organized since 1956 by the European Broadcasting Union, Eurovision is now one of the world's largest televised music events, attracting hundreds of millions of viewers each year.
The trophy is handcrafted.
The Eurovision trophy awarded to the winning nation is now a classic, clear glass microphone, designed as a symbol of European television and popular music.
This trophy has been in use since 2008, replacing the various other trophy designs that had appeared in the history of Eurovision . The trophy was designed by Swedish designer Kjell Engman of the renowned glass company Kosta Boda.
Each trophy is approximately 40cm tall and weighs over 5kg. Because they are handcrafted, no two are exactly alike. After the final night, the winning country keeps the official trophy, while the broadcaster organizing the competition the following year usually displays a replica in promotional activities.
