Currently, the province has recorded 42 outbreaks of African swine fever, causing nearly 6,000 pigs to be destroyed with a total weight of more than 261 tons in 1,142 households. The epidemic is still present in 35 communes that have not passed the 21-day quarantine period, causing the risk of further spread to increase.

According to assessments, people's subjectivity in disease prevention is one of the main reasons for the rapid spread of the disease. In many localities, people have been seen selling sick pigs, letting their carcasses float in rivers, and dumping them in the woods or in public trash bins.

Faced with complicated developments, on June 30, 2025, the Provincial People's Committee issued Official Dispatch No. 15/CD-CT requesting all levels and sectors to synchronously, drastically and effectively implement epidemic prevention measures. Establish epidemic prevention teams in epidemic hamlets, on duty 24/7 to control the transportation and destruction of sick pigs, general cleaning of barns, spraying disinfectants and isolating epidemic areas.
