Recently, at the 47th Asia Pacific Dental Conference (APDC), held for the first time in Vietnam, P/S officially announced a breakthrough with Microbiome technology in its Pro-Care toothpaste line.

Conversely, many groups of microorganisms play an essential role in maintaining a healthy oral environment,” – the scientific report “Balanced Oral Microbiome – The Foundation of Good Oral Health” by Dr. Robert Marriott, representative of Unilever’s Research and Development department, clearly states.
Anatomical evidence reveals a significant statistic: teeth occupy only about 20% of the oral cavity's surface area, while the mucous membrane and soft tissues make up the remaining 80%. Traditional brushing primarily involves mechanical friction, essentially "breaking down" plaque on the surface. However, brushing without specialized active ingredients in this way means we are neglecting a large portion of the soft tissue surface, thereby inadvertently disrupting the balance of the oral environment.
Experts assert that the oral cavity is the gateway to all systemic diseases. When the oral ecosystem is unbalanced and the biofilm is disrupted, it allows harmful bacteria and inflammatory factors to migrate into the bloodstream. Based on a comprehensive understanding of the oral ecosystem and Unilever's superior research and development (R&D) foundation, P/S is the first to incorporate Microbiome technology into its P/S Pro-Care product line.
