CP Vietnam officially completed the goal of planting 1.5 million trees.
Information about CP Vietnam's announcement of completing the goal of planting 1.5 million trees in the 2021 - 2025 period was shared at the event "CPV Innovation & SHE Sustainability 2025".
The activity belongs to the project "CP Vietnam - Journey for a Green Vietnam", carried out in response to the Government 's Project to plant 1 billion trees and the CP Group's target of 20 million trees.
Since 2021, CP Vietnam has been planting trees in the factory premises and on corporate farms and coordinating implementation in many localities.

The target of 1.5 million trees was implemented in four years in the factory system, farms and many coastal areas and protective forests. According to the summary, the actual number of trees planted reached more than 1.52 million trees, of which more than 57 hectares of planted forests met the "forest" standard, with a survival rate of over 85%. The results showed stable implementation progress thanks to the coordination between CP Vietnam and related units.

Speaking at the closing ceremony of the 5-year journey of “CP Vietnam - Journey for a Green Vietnam”, Mr. Pawalit Ua-Amornwanit - General Director of CP Vietnam said: “The program not only aims to create more green areas but is also designed as an emission reduction solution according to ESG standards. The amount of newly planted trees is estimated to absorb more than 38,000 tons of CO₂ by 2030, contributing to the company's carbon neutrality target and national environmental commitments. Planting trees in mangrove and protective forest areas also helps increase the ability to protect dikes, reduce erosion and improve climate adaptation in localities affected by climate change”.

Promote responsibility for protecting natural resources
In parallel with tree planting activities, CP Vietnam is implementing many other ESG programs such as stopping the use of coal from 2021, increasing the proportion of renewable energy in production, operating Biogas systems on farms and joining PRO Vietnam to implement Extended Producer Responsibility (EPR) in the packaging sector. These activities create a foundation of synchronous solutions to serve the goal of reducing emissions and developing a circular economic model.

From a social perspective, the tree planting program is considered to have a spillover effect when attracting the participation of the local community. Many environmental education and communication activities are implemented in parallel at tree planting sites, helping to raise awareness and promote people's responsibility in protecting natural resources.
Mr. Worawit Arunraksa - Director of Sustainable Development, CP Vietnam said: “The completion of the target of 1.5 million trees is the result of continuous coordination between businesses, authorities and the community. We will continue to expand environmental activities, linked to the company's sustainable development goals in the next phase”.
CP Vietnam has been recognized for many consecutive years in sustainable development awards such as Top 100 Sustainable Enterprises in Vietnam (CSI) and Top 10 ASEAN Green Growth Brands. According to experts, the greatest value of the 1.5 million trees program lies in the way the business turns an environmental goal into a practical, verifiable action that is linked to a long-term ESG strategy.
