Ca Mau: 40 communes and wards recognized as safe zones

On December 7, Mr. Le Minh Hien, Deputy Director of the Department of Home Affairs of Ca Mau province, said that the Provincial People's Committee has just issued a decision to recognize commune-level administrative units of Ca Mau province as safe zone communes and wards during the resistance war against France and the US.

Accordingly, the whole province of Ca Mau has 40/64 commune-level administrative units that have been recognized as safe zones; of these, there are 3 wards: Ly Van Lam, An Xuyen and Gia Rai. The population of 40 commune-level administrative units that have been recognized as safe zones is nearly 1.6 million people (the population of Ca Mau province is over 2.6 million people).

According to regulations, permanent residents in An Toan Khu communes will receive 100% health insurance premium support from the state and enjoy 100% health insurance examination and treatment costs according to regulations. In addition, they will also be given priority in investing in infrastructure construction and socio -economic development to improve people's living standards.
