Located in the urban area on Tran Hung Dao Street, Tan Thanh Ward, a garden of cosmos flowers (butterfly-winged) with a unique flower-shaped design is becoming a focal point for spring excursions in Ca Mau . Surrounded by a lake, this project was completed in early February after two months of intensive renovation and planting.

Scale and process of creating the flower island
To create this vibrant carpet of flowers, the team sowed over 50 kg of seeds in a variety of colors such as velvet red, white, orange, and yellow, with pink playing a dominant role. Cosmos flowers are herbaceous plants native to Mexico, known for their ability to withstand harsh weather and adapt easily to tropical conditions.

Notably, since the beginning of December 2025, this land has undergone a rigorous process of treating saline soil, leveling the ground, and installing a synchronized electricity and irrigation system. Every day, a team of more than a dozen workers is on duty to care for the plants, ensuring the flowers maintain their freshness throughout the two-month peak Tet holiday season.

Experience a unique check-in space.
Every day, the flower island welcomes thousands of locals and tourists. The ideal time to capture beautiful moments is from 6 am to 8 am or from 3 pm to 5 pm, when the natural light is softest and most harmonious.

The most striking feature of the design is the walkway system paved with thousands of heart-shaped bricks, painted in colors that harmonize with the flowerbeds. This thoughtful detail not only creates an aesthetic focal point but also allows visitors to move around conveniently without disturbing the natural floral landscape.

Pham Anh Thy (15 years old, residing in Tan Thanh ward) shared her surprise at finding a large and vibrant flower garden right in the middle of the urban area. This is considered one of the most interesting destinations in the southernmost part of the country during the first days of the new year.
Free green space for the community
Ms. Vo Thi Bich Tuyen, representative of the Happy Home urban development unit, affirmed that the flower island was created with the goal of providing a green space and a free cultural stop for residents. This is an effort to bring spiritual value to the community and tourists visiting Ca Mau during the Lunar New Year.

With its large scale and systematic investment, the butterfly flower island not only beautifies the urban landscape but also contributes to promoting local tourism during the festival season.
