
Conference scene.
The conference aims to update information on Vietnam's international integration, Free Trade Agreements (FTAs) signed by Vietnam, especially the new ones that have come into effect; information on the market and new regulations from importing countries, helping officials, civil servants, public employees and businesses in the province update market information, grasp and effectively take advantage of opportunities from FTAs, contributing to promoting the socio- economic development of the province.
At the conference, delegates were provided with an overview of Vietnam - EU trade relations, the role of the Vietnam - EU Free Trade Agreement (EVFTA); instructions on rules for determining the origin of goods in the EVFTA; the form of certificate of origin (C/O) and the process of applying for C/O; tracing the origin of goods exported to the EU and some notes when exporting to the EU.
Speaking at the conference, the leader of the Department of Industry and Trade affirmed: After 5 years of implementation, the EVFTA Agreement has opened up great opportunities for Vietnamese goods in general and goods of Ca Mau province in particular to enter the EU market, especially the province's key seafood products. Accordingly, the province's export turnover to the EU market in 2024 will reach nearly 130 million USD; in the first 9 months of 2025, it will reach 125 million USD, an increase of more than 40% over the same period.
The leaders of the Department of Industry and Trade hope that the knowledge shared at the conference will be useful information, creating a foundation for businesses to continue to learn more deeply, make the most of the benefits from EVFTA, promote the province's goods to reach further, affirm the brand and integrate sustainably into the global value chain.
