Ca Mau: Implementing the Strategy for the Development of Physical Education and Sports in Vietnam until 2030, with a vision to 2045, in the province.

The People's Committee of Ca Mau province has issued Plan No. 14/KH-UBND on the implementation of the Strategy for the Development of Physical Education and Sports in Vietnam until 2030, with a vision to 2045, in the province.

This plan is issued to concretize and effectively implement the viewpoints, objectives, tasks, and solutions in Conclusion No. 70-KL/TW dated January 31, 2024, of the Politburo on the development of physical education and sports in the new period; Decision No. 1189/QD-TTg dated October 15, 2024, of the Prime Minister approving the Strategy for the Development of Physical Education and Sports in Vietnam until 2030, with a vision to 2045; and Decision No. 675/QD-BVHTTDL dated March 14, 2025, of the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism promulgating the Plan for implementing the Strategy for the Development of Physical Education and Sports in Vietnam until 2030, with a vision to 2045.

Identify the specific tasks and responsibilities of relevant agencies, units, and localities in organizing the implementation of the Strategy for the Development of Physical Education and Sports in Vietnam until 2030, with a vision to 2045, in Ca Mau province.

The overall objectives of the plan include: perfecting institutions and policies; developing sports for all; developing high-performance sports; sports cooperation; developing human resources in sports; communication and digital transformation in sports; increasing investment resources for sports development; and promoting social and professional organizations.

In particular, high-performance sports focus on selecting, training, nurturing, and coaching sports talents to create a stable, long-term, and sustainable source of talent; correctly identifying target groups associated with key sports and key events to prioritize investment in in-depth development, emphasizing quality, in order to create breakthroughs in training high-performance sports talents, especially in sports included in the Olympic Games, Asian Games (ASIAD), and Southeast Asian Games (SEAGAMES); investing in the construction, upgrading, repair, and comprehensive development of the province's sports infrastructure network to ensure the conditions are ready to successfully host major sporting events at the provincial, regional, national, and international levels.

Focus investment on the province's key sports: Canoeing, Weightlifting, Rowing, Athletics, Petanque, Taekwondo, Wrestling, Judo; alongside continued investment in key sports with development potential: Boxing, Kickboxing, Bodybuilding, Kurash, Jujitsu, Vovinam, Traditional Vietnamese Martial Arts, Sea Rowing, Badminton, and other sports such as: Traditional Boat Racing, Football, Volleyball, Table Tennis, Pickleball,... and aim to increase the number of sports in subsequent years by 2045 to suit the province's actual conditions.

The Provincial People's Committee requests that all units fully and thoroughly disseminate and thoroughly understand the viewpoints, objectives, tasks, and solutions of the Strategy; creating a shift in awareness and a high level of unity and consensus among agencies, units, and localities in the process of implementing the Strategy.

The tasks set forth must be practical, effective, feasible, linked to responsibility, and promote the proactive and positive role of agencies, units, and localities in their implementation. Consistency with the implementation of government action programs, Party resolutions, and the socio-economic development strategies and plans of the province and localities over each period must be ensured.

Strengthen coordination with agencies, units, and localities in implementing the Strategy and the Strategy Implementation Plan.
