The whole country has only one female principal who is a candidate for associate professor in 2025.

(Dan Tri) - In 2025, many university presidents will be candidates for professor or associate professor, of which there will be only one female candidate.

According to the list of candidates proposed for recognition as meeting the standards for the title of professor and associate professor from the State Council of Professors in 2025, there are a series of candidates who are presidents of universities across the country.

The only female principal who is a candidate for professor or associate professor this year is Ms. Le Thi Thuy, Principal of Da Nang University of Medical Technology and Pharmacy , candidate for associate professor of Medicine.

Dr. Le Thi Thuy, born in 1973, is from Da Nang. She graduated from Hue University in 1998 with a medical degree; in 2006 and 2023, she received her master's and doctorate degrees in Medicine, specializing in Biochemistry, from Hanoi Medical University.

Ms. Le Thi Thuy has worked at Danang University of Medical Technology and Pharmacy since 2001, holding the positions of lecturer, group leader, deputy head of department, head of department, dean of faculty and became vice principal in 2017.

In 2022, Ms. Thuy was appointed as Principal of Da Nang University of Medical Technology and Pharmacy.

Up to now, Ms. Thuy has completed 7 scientific research topics from the grassroots level and above, of which she is the head of 4 scientific research topics; published 50 scientific articles, including 11 scientific articles in prestigious international journals.

Ms. Le Thi Thuy's three main research directions include research on biochemical test indicators and biological markers in the diagnosis of common paraclinical diseases; research on infectious diseases, including epidemiological, paraclinical and clinical issues; research on genetic manifestations related to pathological problems such as cancer and metabolic disorders.

The youngest candidate for Rector this year is Dr. Tran Trong Dao, Rector of Ton Duc Thang University, candidate for associate professor in the field of electricity and electronics.

Mr. Tran Trong Dao was born in 1981, received his bachelor's, master's and doctoral degrees in the Czech Republic and has been working at Ton Duc Thang University since 2010. Mr. Dao was appointed as the school's principal at the end of 2022 after holding the positions of vice principal, school manager and acting principal.

Up to now, Dr. Tran Trong Dao has published 32 scientific articles, including 16 scientific articles in prestigious international journals; published 3 books by prestigious publishers.

The presidents of other universities who are candidates for professor and associate professor this year include:

Associate Professor Dr. Nguyen Duc Trung, Principal of Banking University of Ho Chi Minh City, is a candidate for Professor of Economics. To date, this candidate has 91 scientific articles, including 18 scientific articles in prestigious international journals; published 12 books.

Associate Professor, Dr. Le Van Huy, Principal of University of Economics (University of Danang) , candidate for professor of Economics.

Mr. Huy graduated from the University of Economics and Business Administration (now the University of Economics, Danang University); received his master's and doctorate degrees in France.

This candidate has published 88 scientific articles, including 19 in prestigious international journals.

Associate Professor Dr. Ta Van Loi , Principal of the School of Business (National Economics University) , candidate for professorship in International Business. Mr. Loi was appointed Principal in July 2024 when the school was established under a new model. He was previously Vice Principal and participated in many research projects on the business environment.

Associate Professor Dr. Hoang Dinh Phi , Principal of the School of Business and Administration (Vietnam National University, Hanoi) is a candidate for professor of Economics.

Mr. Phi graduated from Hanoi University of Social Sciences and Humanities with a major in Law; Russian from the Military University of Foreign Languages; English from the University of Foreign Languages; Master's degree in Technology Management and International Business from the Asian Institute of Technology (Thailand); PhD from the University of Commerce.

Mr. Phi has published 44 scientific articles, including 9 in prestigious international journals.

Dr. Phan Hong Hai, Rector of Ho Chi Minh City University of Industry, is a candidate for Associate Professor in Economics and Finance. He graduated with a bachelor's degree from Ho Chi Minh City University of Economics (now Ho Chi Minh City University of Economics), received a master's degree from Hanoi University of Science and Technology (now Hanoi University of Science and Technology) and a doctorate from Ho Chi Minh City Banking University.

To date, Mr. Hai has published 28 scientific articles and reports, including 9 scientific articles in prestigious international journals; and published 3 textbooks.

Dr. Lam Thanh Hien , Rector of Lac Hong University , candidate for Associate Professor of Information Technology. Mr. Hien was born in 1970 and was Vice Rector before being officially appointed Rector in 2021.

To date, Mr. Hien has published 44 scientific articles, including 13 scientific articles in prestigious international journals.

Dr. Pham Dinh Trung, Principal of Yersin University in Dalat , is a candidate for associate professor in the field of Mechanics - Dynamics, with many studies applying artificial intelligence in design and manufacturing.

Mr. Trung has published 21 scientific articles, including 5 scientific articles in prestigious international journals; was granted 1 exclusive patent for a useful solution (method for detecting defects in glass bottle bodies) by the Intellectual Property Office in June.

Dr. Kieu Xuan Thuc, Principal of Hanoi University of Industry , is a candidate for associate professor of Electrical and Electronic Engineering.

Dr. Kieu Xuan Thuc graduated with a bachelor's degree in Electronics - Telecommunications and a master's degree in Information Processing and Communications from Hanoi University of Science and Technology (now Hanoi University of Science and Technology); and a doctorate in Electronics - Telecommunications from Ulsan University (Korea).

Mr. Thuc has published 39 scientific articles, including 22 in prestigious international journals.
