According to Mr. Nguyen Van Chuyen (30 years old, living in Hung Dien commune), the person who caught the crocodile and handed it over, at about 9:50 p.m. on November 12, while he and his companion were fishing on Cai Co river, the section bordering the Vietnam - Cambodia border, they discovered a large fish caught in the net. When the net was pulled up, it was an adult crocodile with a long body and quite heavy. Both of them restrained it, tied its muzzle and legs to ensure safety and brought it to shore. Realizing that this was a wild animal that needed to be protected, he proactively brought the crocodile to Song Trang Border Guard Station to hand it over.
After receiving the crocodile, the Song Trang Border Guard Station made a record of receiving the 37 kg crocodile and coordinated with the authorities to preserve and care for the crocodile before handing it over to a specialized conservation unit according to regulations.

Song Trang Border Guard Station also assessed that Nguyen Van Chuyen's actions demonstrated his awareness of law compliance and spirit of cooperation with functional forces in wildlife protection, contributing to maintaining security and order in the border area.
The 37 kg crocodile is currently being temporarily cared for, awaiting handover to the competent authority to be brought to a wildlife conservation area.
