Cancel show due to unsold tickets
On November 26, singer Lan Nha announced the cancellation of the Nha Concert scheduled to take place on December 7 at the Vietnam - Soviet Friendship Palace, Hanoi .
The reason for canceling the concert was that "ticket sales had not met the standard", in addition to the flood situation in the Central region, he wanted to prioritize supporting the community.
However, since the concert was announced on November 6, the issue of ticket prices ranging from 2.5 million VND to 5.9 million VND has caused controversy because the number is compared to concerts of top stars such as My Tam and Ha Anh Tuan.
He said the crew tried to adjust ticket prices as much as possible. However, the number of seats at the Vietnam-Soviet Friendship Palace was less than at the Hoa Binh Theater, not to mention the cost of moving sound, lighting, and the orchestra from Ho Chi Minh City, which caused ticket prices to increase.
On the social network Threads, singer Lan Nha received a lot of criticism. Some posts even questioned his "indifference and disregard for the audience's opinions".
The 8X singer was also attacked by singer Ha Anh Tuan's fans for mentioning their idol during the project announcement.
Before Lan Nha, in mid-November, singer Duc Phuc also announced the cancellation of the mini-show "I agree " with guest singer Noo Phuoc Thinh due to "unsafe health".
However, many internet users pointed out that this mini-show has been selling poorly. On the ticketing website, seats from 700,000 to 2.5 million VND have not been sold out even though the show opened for sale 1 month ago.
In July 2024, singer Ha Tran also announced the cancellation of two concerts "The Pure Galaxy - 30 Years of Diva Ha Tran's Voice" in Ho Chi Minh City and Hanoi because "the producer does not have enough financial capacity". It is not difficult to see that she is in the same situation as her colleagues.

A recent controversial case is the fan meeting of actress Lam Thanh Nha in Hanoi which was deserted and had few people because of unreasonable ticket prices. Similar to Lan Nha, Lam Thanh Nha also explained the high ticket prices due to "operational problems, the crew had to move from Ho Chi Minh City to Hanoi".
Lessons in organizing a concert
Talking to VietNamNet reporter, media expert M, who has worked for many years in showbiz and music program production, commented that the cancellation of Lan Nha and some other singers' concerts is an inevitable part of the concert boom in the music market.
Lan Nha is a talented singer but mainly sings covers, has no personal hits. Video: excerpt from MV "Vang Phai Truoc Ngo"
"In just the last 3 months of 2025, the number of concerts increased dramatically to several dozen while the audience remained the same, economic capacity remained the same, it was difficult to avoid saturation, so it was natural that some concerts were canceled due to sluggish sales," according to experts.
Media expert M believes that most Vietnamese singers' concerts are still emotional rather than having a systematic strategy and long-term vision.
For example, while foreign singers always proactively stop performing at least half a year before a concert, most Vietnamese singers still perform regularly, only stopping accepting shows about 1-2 months before a concert, leading to almost no more ticket sales.
Besides, most Vietnamese concerts have boring, old content, repeating familiar acts and songs that have appeared on the stages of large music festivals, tea rooms and events.
Regarding the issue of unreasonable ticket prices, according to media experts, explanations such as "high investment level", "limited number of seats", "increased cost of transporting equipment"... are all unreasonable.
"We have quite a few quality concerts with reasonable ticket prices, this is a matter of organizational capacity. Next, organizing concerts in Ho Chi Minh City or Hanoi is not much different. The two largest cities in Vietnam both have enough suppliers (product/service providers) to hold concerts, you cannot use the excuse of saying that holding concerts in Hanoi is more expensive than Ho Chi Minh City. And in fact, this year, the number of concerts in Hanoi is not less than Ho Chi Minh City," this person analyzed.

Why have risks arisen and been warned from the beginning, but many artists still "try to force it" by organizing concerts? , to this question, Ms. M. responded: "That is the problem between communication and reality. Many teams often go to the media to promote 'sold-out concerts', 'internet crashes' even when ticket sales are sluggish.
In fact, concerts of stars like T, S... do not sell out. Even a big music festival initially announced the capacity of 15-17 thousand audience, then had to quietly reduce it to 5-7 thousand. Recently, the concert of singer T. only sold about 60% of the expected tickets.
Therefore, this way of communicating is very dangerous, unintentionally causing many artists and other crews to misunderstand the market, even rushing to do concerts with the belief that 'it's easy to play, easy to win'.
Regarding solutions, media experts advise singers and crews to learn from My Tam and Ha Anh Tuan's concerts, especially the two factors of a systematic process and choosing the right time for the market.
Other factors such as content, organization, ideas... are all professional and superior to the average.
"You must have enough strength, content, audience... to hold a solo concert. If the market situation in 2026 does not change, singers should consider because reality is much harsher than what is painted rosy in the media," the expert said.
