Singer Siu Black admits to debt and 'has reached the end of the road'

After a period of avoidance, last night at 11pm, singer Siu Black decided to meet Thanh Nien reporter to inform about the debt that has been rumored for a long time.

Receiving reporters at a coffee shop in Phu Nhuan District (HCMC), Siu Black appeared extremely emotional and quite tired. Singer Phuong Thanh, a colleague and close friend of Siu Black, went along to encourage her friend, saying that Siu Black had a high fever and had not eaten or drunk anything for many days. "Siu Black has reached the end of the road," the singer of Ly ca phe Ban Me said and confirmed that the debt story was true, with the debt exceeding 2.5 billion VND.

Siu Black also said the reason for bankruptcy was because "the coffee shop business was losing money". "After mortgaging the house in Kon Tum to the bank for 700 million VND, I borrowed more from friends and relatives for a total of more than 1 billion VND to open a coffee shop with the purpose of giving jobs to my children and grandchildren in my hometown of Kon Tum. Siu Black simply thought that if business was difficult, she would use her show fee to make up for it". However, when the shop had few customers and shows gradually decreased, she had to borrow money to cover expenses, leading to compound interest and an inability to pay.

The singer of Ly ca phe Ban Me said she wanted to make her debt public once to ease her mind, and at the same time hoped that the audience and show organizers, those who loved Siu Black, would give her a way to pay off her debt and make up for her mistakes. “I hope everyone will open the way for Siu, give Siu a chance. That debt is because Siu doesn’t know how to calculate and do business, not because she cheated or took anyone’s debt,” Siu Black said.

According to singer Phuong Thanh, she heard the news while performing abroad. “As soon as I returned to Vietnam, I immediately looked for Siu because Siu did not want to meet anyone in this situation. I encourage Siu to speak frankly about the problem because the audience never abandons artists. I hope everyone, from loan sharks to loan sharks, can pave the way for Siu to sing and pay off her debts,” Phuong Thanh said and concluded: “From today, July 24, I will represent Siu.
