The decision to donate organs not only carries profound humanitarian significance but also serves as a vivid testament to medical ethics and the spirit of "a good doctor is like a loving mother," practiced until the very last moment of life.

Nurse Pham Thi Ha - Head Nurse of the Nephrology, Urology and Dialysis Department at Huu Nghi Hospital, who has worked and been dedicated to nursing at the National Center for Disease Control for many years, still feels heavy-hearted about the passing of her diligent colleague who devoted herself wholeheartedly to the patients.

“At this point, we are truly saddened and still can't believe that Ms. C. passed away so suddenly. That day, during her midday shift, she was still caring for a dialysis patient when she unexpectedly suffered a stroke right in the patient's room. Everything happened so fast, her shift was still unfinished…,” Nurse Pham Thi Ha shared, her voice choked with emotion.

According to the head nurse, not only she but all the staff in the department have affection and respect for Ms. C.

She is dedicated to her profession, always wholeheartedly committed to her work, and never afraid of difficulties or hardships. Within the team, Ms. C. is always cooperative, ready to help colleagues, and has never hesitated or complained about anything.

"Ms. C. is a sincere and hardworking person, and everyone loves her. During the days she was hospitalized, we took turns visiting her every day, hoping she would recover soon."

"Although she has passed away, her noble deeds, dedication, and character will forever remain in the hearts of our faculty," Director Ha expressed emotionally.

Sharing his thoughts on the nurse's noble act, Associate Professor Dr. Nguyen The Anh, Director of Friendship Hospital, emotionally stated that the passing of his female colleague is a great loss to her family, loved ones, and the entire staff of Friendship Hospital.

However, the decision of the woman and her family to donate her organs during this most painful time demonstrated a noble spirit of humanity, true to the qualities, medical ethics, and ideals of a physician.

“Even though she is no longer present, she continues her mission of saving lives, leaving behind an invaluable legacy of life for many other patients. This is not only a source of pride for Friendship Hospital but also a powerful example of compassion, dedication, and social responsibility among the medical staff ,” the Director of Friendship Hospital expressed.

A last-minute gift to allow 5 lives to continue their journey.

In this transplant case, the liver was transplanted to a 36-year-old male patient; both kidneys were transplanted to a 37-year-old female patient and a 47-year-old male patient. Two corneas were transferred to Hue Central Hospital, opening up a chance for vision restoration for patients who have been waiting for the light to return.

Currently, specialized teams are continuing to monitor, care for, and refine the post-transplant procedures. Each multi-organ harvesting and transplant case is the culmination of the intelligence, courage, and close coordination of the team of doctors and nurses, contributing to extending the journey of reviving life through noble acts of kindness.
