"Same price" 20,000 USD
The copyright price for the 33rd SEA Games is sold by the host Thailand at a fairly reasonable price. Accordingly, the 33rd SEA Games Organizing Committee proposed a fee of 20,000 USD (nearly 500 million VND) for each television unit of each country participating in the Games.
With this amount of money, television units can participate in broadcasting live competition programs according to the content produced by the Organizing Committee. In addition, each television unit that pays an additional 5,000 USD to the Organizing Committee will immediately have clean airwaves when broadcasting live competitions at the SEA Games.
The copyright price of SEA Games 33 is much lower than that of major events such as World Cup, EURO, Asiad... This is also understandable because SEA Games is a traditional tournament in the region, mainly to promote the image and culture of the host country.
A representative of the Sports Authority of Thailand (SAT) said that it is expected that about 30 sports at the 33rd SEA Games will have live TV signals produced during the Games. The 33rd SEA Games Organizing Committee assigned the National Olympic Committee to receive registrations for live broadcasting rights for this Games.
Many Vietnamese stations have copyright for SEA Games
FPT Play is the pioneer in purchasing the television copyright for the 33rd SEA Games. According to the plan, this station will broadcast 29 sports from the host station and directly produce some sports that the Vietnamese sports delegation will compete in. Many sports that attract great attention from viewers will be broadcast in full.
The representative of this unit affirmed to bring the whole picture of the 33rd Southeast Asian Games and the most authentic images of Vietnamese athletes to domestic audiences from December 1. In parallel with production and broadcasting, FPT Play will carry out a series of quality talkshows, companion news and companion campaigns called "SEA Games 33: Advance Vietnam", "Towards SEA Games"...
FPT Play sent about 20 staff to Thailand to work, to produce live events that the host country's television did not broadcast. In addition, there were 5 teams of reporters reporting at the competition venues to bring the fastest information to the audience.
Vietnam Television (VTV) also planned very early on to buy copyrights and produce programs for the 33rd SEA Games. With a lot of experience in producing sports TV programs, and the No. 1 position of the National Television, VTV will broadcast directly and indirectly over 30 expected sports.
In particular, VTV’s “specialty” is its accompanying programs that always attract audiences. Programs such as “SEA Games Diary”, “Inside Stories”, “SEA Games Close-up”, “Men’s and Women’s Football Commentary”, “SEA Games Competition Commentary”… are broadcast on a series of VTV channels.
Another unit that also has the copyright of SEA Games is VTC. This unit launched the Vietnam Sports Channel - a product jointly produced by VTC and the Department of Sports and Physical Training. The content of SEA Games 33 is broadcast mainly on the Vietnam Sports Channel, the VTC ONE Digital Ecosystem, and is also widely spread through copyright sharing with many newspapers and local television stations.

The list of 6 athletes of the Vietnam Esports Audition team was carefully selected from domestic tournaments. At the 33rd SEA Games, Audition competed in three events: men's individual, women's individual and mixed team.
