Party Secretary and Chairman of the People's Council of Hiep Duc Commune, Le Quang Quynh, said that the commune has mobilized philanthropists and businesses to support more than 600 gifts with initial necessities for people affected by floods and landslides.

Accordingly, the Da Nang Youth Union, Hiep Duc compatriots in Ho Chi Minh City, the City's Young Entrepreneurs Association... presented many gifts worth from 300,000 to 600,000 VND/gift.

Regarding flood recovery work, immediately after the water receded, local authorities mobilized forces and people to clean up the environment and disinfect.

In addition, the commune reported to the People's Committee of Da Nang City and the Department of Finance about 3 major landslides in the area, which need attention and support to overcome. Specifically, at the Dong Xa culvert location of DH5 route (from Tra Linh bridge to Truong Son Dong road), the floodwaters damaged and completely cut off the road, making it impossible to move.

At a residential area in Phu Nhon village, rocks and soil from the hill slid down and encroached on houses, threatening the safety of 6 households. The commune relocated these 6 households to a temporary cultural house for safety. At Hiep Duc Martyrs Temple, a landslide also occurred, with dozens of households living below.

According to the Party Secretary of the commune, Le Quang Quynh, to proactively respond to natural disasters, the locality will provide life jackets and flashlights to households in areas at risk of deep flooding. At the same time, all resources will be mobilized to equip modern means such as canoes, motorized boats, etc. to promptly rescue people in emergency situations when the water level rises. (VINH ANH)

On November 1, at Thang Dien commune , the Youth Union of Da Nang City Police coordinated with Yen May Production Facility to visit and present 410 gifts, including essential necessities, to people in An Thai, An Thanh 2, and An Thanh 3 villages after many days of isolation and separation due to floods.

* On November 1, Tam Xuan commune organized a working delegation to visit and give gifts to support people in Tra Doc commune (twinning unit) who suffered heavy damage due to floods.

The delegation presented more than 1,000 gifts (each gift included: noodles, instant pho, banh chung, drinking water, dry food, school supplies, clothes...) and 1 ton of goods including fish sauce, cooking oil, dried fish..., with a total value of more than 200 million VND. The funding was contributed by officials, people, organizations, individuals, businesses, and philanthropists inside and outside Tam Xuan commune.

According to a representative of Tra Doc commune, this is a timely source of encouragement to help the locality and people in the highlands quickly overcome the consequences of natural disasters and stabilize their lives.

Chairman of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Tam Xuan Commune, Nguyen Dang Huong, said that the commune is calling for the community's cooperation to continue supporting people in Tra Doc Commune and other localities affected by floods. (AI LY)

The delegation presented dozens of gifts including essential necessities, contributing to helping households stabilize their lives soon after the flood. The total value of the gifts was 90 million VND, mobilized from officials, civil servants and benefactors in the ward. (VAN KHANH)
