Localities urgently renovate urban areas

After the reflection of Lam Dong Electronic Newspaper, localities have urgently overcome shortcomings in urban beautification.

On November 13, Chairman of the People's Committee of Dong Gia Nghia Ward ( Lam Dong ) Thach Canh Tinh said that the locality has overcome the shortcomings and inadequacies in decoration and lighting on some roads. This overcoming will take a few days because the equipment is brought from other places.

According to the local leader, after implementing the 2-level local government model, the urban beautification was handed over to the wards by the specialized agencies of Gia Nghia City (old) and the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism.

However, due to difficulties in human resources and materials, the implementation was not timely, creating a bad impression on the people.

“We have noted the feedback from the people as well as the news agencies and newspapers. Urban beautification such as repairing and replacing damaged equipment and dismantling old propaganda billboards is being implemented to ensure a clean and civilized urban appearance,” said Mr. Thach Canh Tinh.

Many new trash cans are placed on central routes.

Similarly, according to a leader of Bac Gia Nghia ward, as soon as the province partially supported the budget, the wards focused on handling the lighting system and household waste. The green tree category alone still lacks investment sources.

Regarding urban management and beautification, during a working session with localities in the West of Lam Dong province on November 8, Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee and Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Ho Van Muoi requested the wards to closely coordinate, discuss, agree on plans and propose appropriate solutions to build Gia Nghia urban area to be bright, green, clean and beautiful, better serving people's lives.

Previously, Lam Dong Electronic Newspaper reported that after implementing the 2-level local government model, urban beautification work in Gia Nghia area (Lam Dong) has not received due attention, many items are degraded and slow to be handled.

According to the reporter's records, along the streets of 23/3, Pham Van Dong, Le Lai... many items such as lighting, decorative lights are damaged; banners, posters with expired propaganda period or inappropriate content are still hanging.

This prolonged situation not only causes insecurity but also makes the urban appearance degraded and shabby.
