This is the first time the organizing committee has developed a separate program for high school students within the framework of the Vietnamese Language and Culture Festival – a significant step towards bringing the image of Vietnam closer to the younger generation in Russia.
The program was jointly organized by the Vietnamese Embassy in the Russian Federation, the Saint Petersburg Foreign Affairs Committee, the "Tradition and Friendship" Foundation for promoting Russia-Vietnam cooperation, and the Vietnam Education Publishing House.
The program's uniqueness lies not only in its diverse cultural colors but also in the fact that Russian students themselves directly performed many Vietnamese art forms with passion and genuine affection for "the S-shaped land."

Right from the opening, the auditorium became lively with dance performances by the Lotus dance group (students from the Russian University of Peoples' Friendship, RUDN), followed by the song "Hello Vietnam" performed in Vietnamese by Milena Abdulaeva, a student from Herzen State Pedagogical University.
The applause was incessant as the Russian students performed the dance "A Round Trip Around Vietnam," or when the 10th-grade students of School No. 488 recited the poem "Vietnam, Our Homeland" by poet Nguyen Dinh Thi in Vietnamese.
Particularly moving was the flashmob performance to the song " Ho Chi Minh's Song," performed by the students of Vyborg District themselves after being guided and trained by the Lotus group that same morning.
Besides enjoying the art, the students also directly participated in many activities experiencing Vietnamese culture such as bamboo pole dancing, playing the O An Quan game, playing catch, painting conical hats, printing Dong Ho paintings, enjoying traditional Vietnamese dishes, and participating in a Q&A area about Vietnam and its people in a lively and exciting atmosphere.
Speaking at the program on behalf of the Vietnamese Embassy in the Russian Federation, Dr. Mai Nguyen Tuyet Hoa emphasized that introducing Vietnam to high school students is of particular importance because "this is the age when their worldview is formed and also the time when they begin to make choices for their future."
According to Dr. Mai Nguyen Tuyet Hoa, direct experiences with the culture, people, and language will help students understand Vietnam not only through books but also through emotions and genuine human connection.
Dr. Nguyen Quoc Hung, Director of the "Tradition and Friendship" Foundation, expressed his wish that the children "not only remember with their minds but also feel Vietnam with their hearts," and hoped that today's young generation would become "little ambassadors" contributing to fostering Vietnam-Russia friendship in the future.
Representing the Vietnam Education Publishing House, Editor-in-Chief Pham Vinh Thai stated that such programs are "spaces where culture becomes a bridge of friendship and understanding between the people of Vietnam and Russia."
Ms. Nadezda, a parent of a student at School No. 488, emotionally shared: “Thank you to the organizers for allowing my children to truly ‘experience Vietnam.’ I sincerely hope that programs like this will be organized regularly so that my children can understand and love your country even more.”

According to the organizers, the enthusiasm and authentic experiences of the students demonstrate the remarkable impact of cultural exchange activities on the younger generation. From traditional games and Vietnamese songs to the simple gatherings today, love and interest in Vietnam have been instilled in the hearts of many young Russians.
Given the positive impact achieved, the program for high school students is expected to become an annual event and a meaningful highlight in future Vietnamese Language and Culture Festivals in the Russian Federation.
