In order to promote socio -economic development, Cam Thuy district has devoted many resources to investing in building essential infrastructure in sectors and fields such as transportation, irrigation, education, health, trade services, tourism, etc. Thanks to that, the rural appearance of the district has had many positive changes, contributing to the completion of the targets and tasks set forth by the Resolution of the 26th District Party Congress, term 2020-2025.

To effectively implement, Cam Thuy district has prioritized capital from the State budget, at the same time mobilizing other legal resources to invest in essential infrastructure, serving production and life, especially developing the traffic infrastructure system connecting from developed economic zones to disadvantaged areas; connecting with tourist destinations, in which reviewing and clearly identifying specific objects, locations, really necessary, urgent, regionally connected works to create momentum to promote development, ensure synchronization, focus, key points, avoid spreading, prolonging and in line with the socio -economic development policy of the district. Specifically, for the inter-commune traffic system, the district prioritizes investing in routes connecting Cam Binh - Cam Thach - Cam Lien - Cam Thanh communes; Ho Chi Minh road avoiding the East - South of Phong Son town; building bridges for people in Cam Yen, Cam Phu, Cam Tu communes; embankment to prevent landslides on the Ma River through Cam Van commune; Pen Chim dam, Cam Thanh commune... For the school system, investment has been made in upgrading and repairing houses and classrooms; building new kitchens; repairing and renovating the boarding house of the District Boarding School for Ethnic Minorities; investing in additional construction and repair of some items at Cam Chau Secondary School; planning to expand Cam Luong Fish Stream Tourist Area; planning a craft village to demonstrate brocade weaving in Cam Thach and Cam Luong communes; making dong vermicelli in Cam Binh commune; forming a closed tourist route in the district such as Cua Ha - Cam Luong Fish Stream - Dung village - Rong Pagoda - Chang Pagoda, linked with the provincial tourist route such as Sam Son City - Thanh Nha Ho - Cam Luong Fish Stream - Lam Kinh...

In addition, Cam Thuy district also directed communes and towns to build and develop agricultural and forestry production in concentrated specialized areas with appropriate scales; actively transform the structure of crops and livestock, select suitable agricultural economic models, bring high economic value, towards sustainable development, such as: the model of growing turmeric in Cam Ngoc and Cam Quy communes, with revenue of more than 220 million VND/ha/year; the model of growing commercial gac trees on an area of 5.5 hectares in Cam Van, Cam Phu, Cam Chau, Cam Luong communes, with revenue of about 180 million VND/ha/year; the model of chicken farms according to the chain link...

Along with developing effective agricultural economic models, Cam Thuy district has also converted ineffective annual crop areas to other crops with higher economic value. Typically, the district has encouraged people to abandon Chinese hybrid rice varieties and low-quality pure rice to replace them with Thien Uu 8, Lam Son 8, DQ11 varieties... suitable for soil conditions and fast growth. Up to now, the district has built 260 hectares of intensive rice cultivation areas with high yield and quality in the communes of Cam Van, Cam Tu, Cam Binh, Cam Thach, Phong Son town... bringing the total area of intensive rice cultivation areas in the district to more than 500 hectares. In addition, the district has also converted ineffective rice land to grow sugarcane, corn, and other vegetables with an area of 120 hectares; Organize contracts with service cooperatives to link production with product output on an area of 311 hectares, of which, corn for animal feed is grown on 286 hectares, chili for export is grown on 15 hectares, potatoes are grown on 5 hectares, squash is grown on 5 hectares...

Along with focusing on developing agriculture and forestry, Cam Thuy district has implemented many solutions to develop traditional handicraft industries, introduce new occupations, contribute to gradually shifting the economic structure, and create jobs for local workers. Up to now, the developed occupations are quite diverse, such as: processing raw materials; processing and preserving agricultural, forestry and aquatic products; manufacturing wooden products, rattan and bamboo, ceramics, glass, textiles, yarn, embroidery, knitting, mechanics and production of services for production and life of rural people..., creating regular jobs for nearly 20,000 workers, with an average income of 5 - 7 million VND/person/month. Of which, there are nearly 7,000 establishments participating in production and business in rural occupations. Total revenue from production and business of all industries annually reaches an average of more than 1,600 billion VND... By the end of 2023, the district had 12/16 communes meeting NTM standards, 48 villages meeting NTM standards (including 8 model NTM villages); 11 OCOP products were certified to meet 3-star standards; the poverty rate decreased to 2.96%...

With drastic and focused management solutions, the socio-economic situation in Cam Thuy district has achieved positive results. This is an important premise for the district to accelerate and make a breakthrough to complete the Resolution of the 26th Cam Thuy District Party Congress, term 2020-2025, with the goal of reaching the standards of a new-style rural district by 2025; the material and spiritual life of the people is improved, the average income per capita reaches 70 million VND/year...
