The last time Cambodia kept a clean sheet at the SEA Games was in 1997, when the national teams were still participating in men's football. Since 2001, when the Games stipulated that the U23 team would participate, it was not until today, April 29, that Cambodia kept its first clean sheet.

With home advantage, Cambodia was eager to win and controlled the ball for the most part, but their attacking efficiency was not high. It was not until the 38th minute that the host of SEA Games 32 enjoyed the joy. From a direct free kick on the left wing, the ball was sent into the penalty area, creating a chaotic situation. Chou Sinti seized the opportunity to shoot, hitting the ball against the foot of a Timor Leste defender, opening the score.
In the second minute of injury time, Chou Sinti received the ball in the second line, faked a shot and then dribbled into the penalty area. The Cambodian defender's shot from the near corner once again hit the leg of a Timor Leste player to complete his double.
Leading 2-0, Cambodia conceded the game to Timor Leste in the second half. Thanks to that, the away team played with more attacking style. In the 57th minute, Joao Halie shot diagonally, but goalkeeper Reth Lyheng reacted well to save the home team. Four minutes later, the Cambodian goalkeeper was lucky to escape a penalty when the ball touched his hand outside the penalty area after an opponent's shot.

Cambodia players waited for the opportunity to counterattack, and increased the score to 3-0 in the 74th minute. Taking advantage of a poor corner kick by Timor Leste, Cambodia counterattacked before substitute striker Sor Rotana finished perfectly. In the 83rd minute, Rotana stole the ball on the opponent's field, dribbled the ball to face the goalkeeper but chose to pass it across for Lim Pisoth to tap into an empty net, sealing the score at 4-0.
