Rach Dia Bridge Project (located on Le Van Luong Street connecting with Nguyen Van Linh Avenue, District 7) to Rach Dia Market (Nha Be District). This is one of the key projects to solve traffic congestion at the southern gateway of Ho Chi Minh City.
According to Giao thong Newspaper reporters, the construction of Rach Dia Bridge is being accelerated. Every day, dozens of workers and machinery are still working hard at the construction site.
According to the Traffic Construction Investment Project Management Board (Traffic Board), up to now, the bridge has completed 9/10 piers and 7/9 bridge spans have been installed.
At the same time, the project has completed 5/9 spans of the bridge deck. In the photo, the contractor has rushed to install the girder spans from the bank to the middle of the river.
Currently, the remaining units are constructing the T4 bridge pier and the bridge deck.
Regarding the access road, the project has completed the treatment of the roadbed, load-reducing floor, and drainage culvert. Currently, the road foundation and retaining wall construction are continuing.
According to the Traffic Department, after one year of construction, the total output of the project has reached about 78%. The entire project is expected to be completed by December 2024.
Previously, compensation and resettlement support work was completed in September 2023. Technical infrastructure relocation also followed, completed in October 2023.
The progress of the Rach Dia Bridge construction has received great attention from local residents and those who frequently travel through this area. Many people are eager and looking forward to the completion and opening of the bridge to reduce traffic congestion at the southern gateway of Ho Chi Minh City.
According to the design, the new Rach Dia bridge construction project is 318m long, 9-10.5m wide, and consists of 9 spans. The two ends of the bridge are built with approach roads with a total length of 233m and width of 14-27m.
The Rach Dia Bridge project was approved by the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee in 2001 and adjusted in September 2017 with a total investment of more than 500 billion VND.
With the efforts of the construction units and the expectations of the people, the project promises to be completed on schedule; bringing important significance to the traffic as well as the socio -economic development of Ho Chi Minh City.
