Authorities in Hanoi are urgently deploying and installing fireworks displays to celebrate the Lunar New Year of the Horse 2026.

In preparation for the New Year 's Eve fireworks display of the Lunar New Year 2026 (Year of the Horse), in the days leading up to Tet, Hanoi authorities are urgently completing the installation of fireworks displays at the planned locations.

At Lac Long Quan flower garden (Tay Ho Ward), authorities are urgently completing the installation of the fireworks display, securing the frame, and arranging the firing positions to ensure the project stays on schedule.

Lieutenant Colonel Nguyen Dinh Thang (far left), Commander of the Tay Ho Ward Military Command, said that at Lac Long Quan flower garden, 700 high-altitude fireworks displays, 60 low-altitude displays, and 30 pyrotechnic displays will be set up. To carry out the task, the unit mobilized more than 120 officers and soldiers in coordination with the Tay Ho Ward Police, self-defense militia, and mobile militia to deploy and install high-altitude fireworks according to the plan. The entire process was carried out correctly, strictly adhering to safety requirements, and received the consensus of the local government and people.

According to Lieutenant Colonel Thang, a new feature this time is the addition of 30 pyrotechnic displays in the West Lake area. Authorities will intensify inspections and implement measures to ensure absolute safety for the fireworks display.

In the area around Ho Guom Lake, installation work is also nearing completion, with authorities installing roofing sheets to ensure safety during the installation process.

Here, Hanoi deployed two fireworks display sites, numbers 1 and 2, located opposite the Hanoi Post Office and in front of the Hanoi Moi Newspaper headquarters, respectively.

According to the Hanoi People's Committee, for the Lunar New Year of the Horse 2026, the capital city will have fireworks displays at 33 locations (34 firing sites). Of these, 11 sites will feature high-altitude fireworks combined with low-altitude pyrotechnics, and 23 sites will feature low-altitude fireworks. The fireworks display on New Year's Eve will last 15 minutes, from 0:00 to 0:15 on February 17th (the night of the 29th of the lunar year). The total cost is nearly 40 billion VND, funded by the city budget combined with social contributions.
