Can Tho elects 2 additional members to the City People's Committee

(Dan Tri) - Ms. Ho Thi Thanh Bach (48 years old), Director of the Department of Foreign Affairs, and Mr. Nguyen Trong Son (53 years old), Chief of Office of the People's Committee of Can Tho City, were elected as members of the People's Committee of Can Tho City for the 2021-2026 term.

On the morning of November 14, the People's Council of Can Tho City, term X (2021-2026), held the sixth session (special session) to consider many important contents under its authority.

At the meeting, the delegates of the Can Tho City People's Council unanimously dismissed Mr. Nguyen Quoc Trung, former Chief of Office of the City People's Committee, from the position of member of the City People's Committee for the 2021-2026 term, because he was transferred to hold the position of Secretary of the Party Committee of Tran De Commune. The voting result was 100% in favor of the delegates present.

Also at the meeting, Chairman of Can Tho City People's Committee Truong Canh Tuyen presented a proposal to introduce personnel for the People's Council to elect additional members of the City People's Committee for the 2021-2026 term.

The two introduced personnel include Ms. Ho Thi Thanh Bach (born in 1977, Long My ward, Can Tho city), PhD in Journalism, Director of the Department of Foreign Affairs; Mr. Nguyen Trong Son (born in 1972, Nga Nam ward, Can Tho city), Master of Party Building and State Administration, Chief of Office of Can Tho City People's Committee.

Before being appointed to the City People's Committee, Mr. Son held the position of Party Secretary of Tran De commune.

The voting results showed that both candidates received a high consensus rate and officially became members of the Can Tho City People's Committee for the 2021-2026 term.

Also at this session, the City People's Council considered many urgent contents such as: Regulations on tuition fees and tuition support levels for the 2025-2026 school year to ensure fairness in access to education , continue to create conditions for children and students in the city to study, contributing to improving the quality of education; Decision on assigning details, adjusting and supplementing the medium-term public investment plan for the period 2021-2025; Decision on adjusting the investment policy of the Oncology Hospital construction investment project...
