According to Director of the Department of Industry and Trade of Can Tho City Ha Vu Son, with its position as the economic , cultural, scientific and technical center of the Mekong Delta, Can Tho has many potentials and advantages to become an attractive destination for supporting industrial projects in the textile, footwear, electronic components, mechanical engineering, etc. In recent times, the city has actively called for investment in the supporting industry sector, but the number of participating enterprises is still not much.

Director of the Department of Industry and Trade Ha Vu Son said that the city has identified supporting industry as a key industry, playing a role in creating momentum for industrial development. Therefore, Can Tho is synchronously implementing practical support policies for businesses such as simplifying administrative procedures, supporting the connection of input material supply chains, completing traffic, electricity and water infrastructure, and focusing on training high-tech human resources to promptly supply investment projects.

Can Tho has prepared land funds in 53 industrial clusters ready for investors in the supporting industry sector. This is an important preparation step to ensure clean land funds, synchronous infrastructure, creating favorable conditions for businesses to quickly implement projects, contributing to promoting sustainable development of local industry.

Implementing the Resolution of the City Party Committee on developing industry in a green, clean and sustainable direction, Can Tho sets a target of industrial production value in the period of 2025 - 2030 reaching 717,000 billion VND, equivalent to 28.6 billion USD. To achieve this goal, the City is coordinating with ministries, branches and enterprises to invest in national energy clusters, develop biomass power, renewable power, support enterprises in technology transformation, increase energy efficiency and reduce emissions.

At the same time, Can Tho also promotes research, application of science and technology innovation to support the development of supporting industry enterprises. The city is drafting a Resolution on policies to support technological innovation until 2030, aiming to help enterprises access advanced technology, expand production and business scale, and gradually form an innovation ecosystem...

Along with investment incentive policies, the City also focuses on creating a transparent mechanism for businesses to easily access support packages and infrastructure. These efforts not only help increase the competitiveness of supporting industrial products, but also contribute to increasing the localization rate, reducing dependence on imported components and materials from outside.

With a clear orientation, synchronous investment in infrastructure and strong commitment of support from the government, Can Tho City is meeting all the conditions to become the center of supporting industry development in the Mekong Delta.
