Can Tho holds first Japanese standard children's football tournament

On the morning of November 12, the VJSS Japanese Standard Community Football Center coordinated with the Can Tho Football Federation (CFF) to hold a press conference and draw lots for the VJSS Can Tho Children's Football Tournament - Yamaha Cup 2025.

The tournament took place on December 27 and 28 at the artificial turf field cluster of Can Tho City Sports Center, with the participation of 24 football teams from primary schools here.

The teams are divided into 8 groups, playing a round robin. After the group stage, the teams will be ranked to compete in 3 leagues: Champion A, B, and C.

This model ensures that no team is eliminated early. Every team has the opportunity to play to the final match and compete for the championship trophy in their division.

In addition to the matches, the tournament in Can Tho also has meaningful sideline activities similar to the tournament in Ho Chi Minh City. That is, directly visiting, encouraging and giving gifts to the 24 participating teams.

Accordingly, the organizing committee will provide official competition jerseys designed specifically for the tournament. Provide standard competition balls for the children to get acquainted and practice. Provide material support for each team to cover preparation costs and especially organize professional training sessions.

At the press conference, Mr. Nguyen Thanh Danh - Vice President of CFF - welcomed and highly appreciated the tournament. He said: "Can Tho has always been the leading flag in the community football movement, and its foundation is school football.

The establishment of the tournament with the scale of 24 primary schools is an extremely positive signal, meeting the urgent need for playgrounds for children. It shows a tournament that is invested in methodically, seriously and has a clear strategy. This will certainly be a model tournament, contributing to promoting the football movement of Can Tho to a new level."
