It can be said that the low birth rate leads to a rapidly aging population, which in turn leads to Canada's need for immigrants to continue to develop and grow its economy . Therefore, immigration is necessary to help Canada increase its population, meet the needs of the workforce, and address the aging population. In order to continue to attract immigrant workers, the Ministry of Employment, Workforce Development and Disability Integration Canada has funded projects under the Foreign Credential Recognition Program. Improving foreign credential recognition processes helps skilled newcomers gain Canadian work experience in their profession or field of study. The Multilingual Orientation Services Association for Immigrant Communities (MOSAIC) also received funding for the Canadian Work Experience Internship Pilot Project. MOSAIC helps foreign professionals coming to Canada, with their international education and experience, gain the necessary work experience to access opportunities in the labor market. In the same vein, in recent years, settling in Canada has gradually become a trend for many Vietnamese families. Currently, there are about 240,000 Vietnamese people living in Canada; mainly distributed in 4 provinces and states: Quebec, Ontario, Alberta and British Columbia, contributing to the development of Canada, helping to strengthen exchanges between the two countries. Vietnamese people settling in Canada often send remittances to their families, contributing to improving living standards and economic conditions in their homeland. This is an important source of foreign currency for Vietnam's economic development. Overseas Vietnamese can also invest in business or real estate projects in Vietnam, promoting local economic development. After settling in Canada, Vietnamese people can return to their homeland with valuable skills and knowledge, thereby contributing to the modernization of economic and social sectors in Vietnam. Returnees can act as experts, lecturers or career guides for the younger generation, helping to improve their qualifications and competitiveness in the labor force.Canada is always on the list of countries with the best quality of life in the world. Currently, the "Red Maple Leaf" country has diverse immigration policies and programs to help people with immigration needs to settle more easily and conveniently.
Having a Vietnamese community in Canada helps to enhance cultural exchanges between the two countries, creating opportunities for mutual understanding. Vietnamese people in Canada can become a trade bridge between Canada and Vietnam, promoting the export of goods and services, expanding the market for Vietnamese businesses. Families with relatives in Canada can access better education and training opportunities for their children, thereby improving the quality of human resources for Vietnam. Student exchange programs between Canadian and Vietnamese universities can help improve educational levels and create rich learning opportunities for Vietnamese students. Canada can invest in important areas such as agriculture , information technology, health care and education in Vietnam, helping to enhance sustainable development. Community organizations in Canada can support Vietnamese immigrants in integrating into their new society, thereby promoting the development of both the Vietnamese community in Canada and their homeland. It is not difficult to find Vietnamese communities in Canada on social platforms. From asking about settlement papers to exchanging addresses for shopping for daily necessities, expatriates always have a way to connect and support each other in a timely manner. Having come to Canada since 2006, Ms. Tran Thu Giang (42 years old), currently living in Ottawa, shared that in nearly 19 years of living and working here, she always feels comfortable and convenient because she receives support from the local authorities and the Canadian Government. In Canada, Ms. Giang can register for courses with government support, if she is low-income, she will receive tuition support, if she applies for a government loan package for her studies, she will not have to pay interest until she graduates and has a job.
Ms. Le Thi Hoai Nam (46 years old), living in Toronto, also shared that monthly living expenses in Canada can vary depending on location and income. Becoming a permanent resident, you have the privilege of accessing health insurance through Canada's public health insurance system. This allows you to receive free and emergency medical care. In addition to free education and health care, Canada has many good policies for the unemployed or subsidies for the care of the elderly and children.
Canada’s attraction of immigrants not only benefits the country but also creates many positive opportunities for Vietnam. By building closer relations between the two countries, Vietnam can take advantage of the potential of the Vietnamese community in Canada, contributing to the country’s sustainable economic and social development./.Cong Dao
