Cat Bi International Airport transports '0 VND' relief goods to flood areas

Faced with the damage caused by floods in the Central and Central Highlands provinces, people, authorities, organizations, and volunteer groups have actively launched campaigns to connect with benefactors to support essential goods. Cat Bi International Airport (Hai Phong) has coordinated to transport goods on 0 VND flights for people in flooded areas.

Mr. Le Thanh Binh, Head of Ground Services Department, Cat Bi International Airport, said that following the direction of Vietnam Airports Corporation, Cat Bi Airport has exempted all fees for relief goods from Hai Phong to localities affected by natural disasters and floods. The airport does not collect service fees, loading and unloading fees and at the same time mobilizes human resources and equipment to support loading and unloading, transporting goods onto planes.

This policy applies to airlines, organizations and individuals sending relief goods during the period from October 1, 2025 to December 31, 2025. According to Mr. Binh, all relief goods through Cat Bi International Airport are processed quickly, promptly, accurately and safely according to regulations. On average, the Airport transports about 2.5 tons of relief goods to people in flood-affected areas every day.

According to the leadership of Cat Bi International Airport, from 23 to 27/22, the Airport received 15,275 kg with 1,154 relief packages sent to people in flood-hit areas. The Airport Board of Directors has directed the functional departments to provide maximum support and give top priority to the transportation of relief goods; in which, the Youth Union and Youth of the Airport are the main force to guide, transport from cargo trucks, loading and unloading, transporting to screening, security... to the plane to bring to people in disaster and flood-hit areas in the shortest time.

Mr. Nguyen Xuan Nguyen, Secretary of the Youth Union of Cat Bi International Airport, said that in order to transport relief goods quickly and promptly, the airport has mobilized most of the union members and youth of the airport to participate in supporting the transport of relief goods. All relief goods will be transported within the day. Up to now, Cat Bi International Airport has transported 5 flights; of which, 4 flights to Khanh Hoa province, 1 flight to Dak Lak province. All goods are transported by VietJet aircraft on non-stop flights.

Up to now, Hai Phong city continues to mobilize the entire political system, units in the area and all the people, business community in the area to participate in supporting people affected by floods and damages caused by floods. The practical activities of the cadres and people of the Port city have demonstrated the spirit of mutual love and support, "helping each other" with people in flood-affected areas.
