Tan Vu Port has surpassed the 1 million TEU mark for five consecutive years, affirming its position as a leading port in the region.

In the first week of December 2025, the atmosphere at Tan Vu Port Branch (Hai Phong Port Joint Stock Company) became vibrant and enthusiastic as the 1 millionth TEU container was officially handled. This significant milestone marks the 5th consecutive year that Tan Vu Port has maintained a throughput exceeding the "million TEU" mark, further affirming its role as one of the leading container handling hubs in the Northern region.

The one millionth TEU, with TEU number SEKU 4469964, was transported aboard the vessel MSK NARVIK on December 6, 2025.

In the context of a shipping market still affected by many fluctuations and increasingly fierce competition, especially the trend of shifting cargo flows to the Lach Huyen deep-water port area, the impressive results of Tan Vu Port further demonstrate the outstanding efforts of its staff and workers. With a proactive, innovative, and united spirit, the unit has continuously optimized operational processes, improved service quality, ensured safety, productivity, and credibility with shipping lines, cargo owners, and domestic and international partners.

In 2025, cargo throughput at Tan Vu Port is expected to increase by nearly 10% compared to 2024, reaching approximately 1.1 million TEU by the end of the year. This result not only confirms the stable and sustainable growth of the unit but also makes a significant contribution to the overall achievements of Hai Phong Port. The success of Tan Vu Port, along with the effective operation of berths 3 and 4 at Lach Huyen, has significantly contributed to making Hai Phong Port the first and only port in the North to reach the milestone of 2 million TEU throughput in a single year.
