Viewed from above, the peaceful countryside appears draped in a multicolored tapestry, truly deserving the title of "bougainvillea kingdom" of the Mekong Delta. The entire nearly 2-kilometer stretch of road is covered with tens of thousands of colorful bougainvillea plants.

Tens of thousands of bougainvillea plants are arranged in straight rows, stretching endlessly, transforming the peaceful countryside into a vibrant "sea of color" awaiting shipment. According to local residents, bougainvillea cultivation in Phu Son has existed for over 20 years, but has only truly flourished in the last 5-7 years.

The bougainvillea grown here comes in many varieties and colors such as red, pink, purple, orange, and white, in bonsai shapes, artistically shaped forms, or large canopy trees.

As Tet approaches, the flowers bloom simultaneously, creating a vibrant and striking scene amidst the spring atmosphere spreading throughout the riverine region.

According to locals, Tet (Lunar New Year) is the time of year with the highest consumption of ornamental flowers. Displaying flowers early not only facilitates sales but also helps promote the traditional flower-growing industry of Cho Lach – considered one of the largest ornamental flower production areas in the Southwestern region of Vietnam.

The volume of traffic and pedestrians on the route has increased significantly, mainly with visitors from Ho Chi Minh City and neighboring provinces coming to sightsee, take photos, and enjoy the spring festivities. The atmosphere is bustling with buying and selling, yet still retains the peaceful charm of the countryside.

Amidst the many activities organized by localities in the Mekong Delta to celebrate Tet and stimulate local tourism , the bougainvillea flowers in Phu Son continue to be a distinctive highlight, contributing to a warm, rustic, and distinctly local atmosphere for welcoming the spring.
