In order to ensure traffic order and safety, prevent accidents and traffic congestion during the Lunar New Year of the Horse 2026, the Traffic Police Department has issued a plan and launched a program to support people returning home for Tet safely and smoothly, especially targeting workers, laborers, students and those in difficult circumstances in large cities and industrial zones.
Accordingly, during the peak period before, during, and after the Lunar New Year, traffic police forces nationwide will proactively develop plans for traffic control and management; strengthen patrols and inspections; and deploy personnel and vehicles on standby on key traffic routes, gateways to major cities, and industrial zones.

Traffic police forces are organizing escorts and providing support for convoys of vehicles carrying people back to their hometowns for Tet (Lunar New Year), with priority given to convoys organized by trade unions, businesses, and social organizations.
In addition, localities will establish support points along the transportation routes, ready to assist people in handling incidents and situations that arise during travel; at the same time, they will proactively coordinate and hand over tasks between areas to ensure that people's journeys are continuous and safe.
The Traffic Police Department also directed increased coordination with labor unions, grassroots trade unions, enterprises, industrial park and export processing zone management boards, and local authorities to understand needs, agree on routes and departure times; guide units and organizations to create lists and plans for scientific , on-route, and timely travel, with traffic police vehicles providing support.
To ensure the program's effective implementation, the Traffic Police Department has publicly announced the hotline numbers of the Department and the Heads of Traffic Police Departments in 34 localities, making it convenient for organizations and individuals to contact them when they need assistance.
