Traffic police "fined" more than 700 vehicles violating traffic laws on highways

Thua Thien- Hue traffic police signaled to stop the vehicle and checked the driver's papers on the La Son-Tuy Loan route.

In order to strengthen the work of ensuring order and traffic safety on expressways, the Traffic Police Department (C08), Ministry of Public Security has directed the Traffic Police force of the Department to coordinate with functional forces to strictly handle violations of stopping, parking, driving in the wrong lane, changing lanes without signaling, speeding, not keeping a safe distance according to regulations... Thereby, bringing practical results, in 5 days on 9 expressways there were no traffic accidents.

During 5 days (from July 16 to July 20), on the highways, C08 arranged for video recording of violating vehicles. As a result, 706 violations were detected; 426 vehicles were stopped and recorded, 280 vehicle owners were notified, the estimated fine was nearly 2.5 billion VND, more than 331 driver's licenses were revoked, and 2 vehicles were temporarily detained.

Some of the main violations include speeding in 206 cases; stopping and parking in violation of regulations in 124 cases; driving in the emergency lane in 28 cases; driving in the wrong part of the road or lane in 66 cases; changing lanes in violation of regulations in 240 cases; and avoiding and overtaking in violation of regulations in 13 cases. In addition, there are violations in picking up and dropping off passengers, entering prohibited roads, reversing, not complying with regulations when entering highways, etc.

In addition, the Highway Traffic Control Patrol Teams have disseminated information to 3,250 vehicles on the route, distributed 598 leaflets, supported 46 vehicles with traffic incidents, and applied reflective stickers to 643 vehicles. They have received 8 reports from people via the hotline 1900.8099.

In the coming time, to promote the achieved effectiveness, the Traffic Police Department will continue to arrange officers to record vehicles violating the law on highways for handling. Violations will be strictly handled according to regulations, in the spirit of "respecting the law, no forbidden zones, no exceptions".

At the same time, continue to propagate and support vehicles with problems, and put reflective stickers on vehicles participating in traffic on the route...
