In the early morning of September 17, Real Madrid had their opening match against Marseille at Bernabeu. Playing at home, the "white vultures" encountered many difficulties and had to rely on the brilliance of Kylian Mbappe to win 2-1 against their opponents.
Before the match, there was a chaotic scene outside the Santiago Bernabeu stadium. The scene of clashes between security forces and Marseille fans made the atmosphere tense.
According to L'Equipe, nearly 3,900 fans of the French team will attend the match. Among them, there are more than 900 extremist fans and about 2,900 people called "traditional fans".
Madrid authorities have mobilized more than 1,900 riot police and other security forces to ensure safety and order. Control measures have also been established, prohibiting fans from bringing items into the stadium, such as: power banks, electronic cigarettes, lighters, bottles, etc.
Marseille fans split into small groups and traveled to the stadium in various forms. They then gathered at 10 Avenida del Brasil to form a procession that traveled 500 meters to the stadium.

Security forces had to intervene to control the French fans, who were said to be trying to cause trouble on the metro line to the area near the stadium.
Riot police charged at French fans with batons and ordered them to disperse. The images were captured and circulated on social media, causing mixed opinions.
Similar situations have occurred in previous Marseille away games in Madrid. In 2008, during the Atletico Madrid vs Marseille match, an overzealous Marseille fan was arrested for pushing a Spanish police officer.
