At the ceremony, Dong Van Karst Plateau UNESCO Global Geopark in Tuyen Quang province was awarded the winning trophy in the category " World's Leading Cultural Destination 2025".

Recognized by UNESCO since 2010, Dong Van Stone Plateau preserves the Earth's evolutionary history of more than 550 million years, was a "witness" of ancient oceans and is a natural repository of fossils from the Paleozoic, Mesozoic to Cenozoic eras.

The unique karst system, paleontological sites, caves, rare fossils and sedimentary layers piled up over hundreds of millions of years have created a rare, vivid "outdoor geological museum" in the world.

Not only a geological wonder, Dong Van Stone Plateau is also a unique cultural space, where 17 ethnic groups live together and create a multi-layered, profound cultural value system. Indigenous architecture, rituals, folk knowledge, music , language and traditional crafts combine to form the unique cultural expressions of each community.

It is the originality, continuity and uniqueness of Dong Van culture that has created a distinct attraction, making it the "World's Leading Cultural Destination in 2025".

This is the first time Tuyen Quang province has had a destination honored in the group of world-class cultural awards, which is a particularly important milestone, affirming the stature, international competitiveness and increasingly prominent position of the province's tourism in the general picture of Vietnam tourism.
