Gold market developments over the past week

Right from the beginning of the week, on February 2nd, the price of SJC gold bars was listed by businesses at around 163.0 million VND/ounce for buying and 166.0 million VND/ounce for selling.

The upward trend peaked this week on February 4th. According to Saigon Jewelry Company (SJC), the buying price reached 177.2 million VND/ounce and the selling price hit 180.2 million VND/ounce.

However, on February 5th, the market saw a correction. The price of SJC gold bars decreased to 174.2 million VND/ounce for buying and 177.2 million VND/ounce for selling.

By the afternoon of February 6th, the price of SJC gold at many major stores continued to fluctuate within a narrow range, commonly around 173.5 - 176.5 million VND/ounce.

February 7th marked a slight recovery. At SJC Company, the price of gold bars was listed at 176.3 million VND/ounce for buying and 179.3 million VND/ounce for selling.

For DOJI Group, the price of SJC gold bars today, February 8th, remains at 176.3 million VND/ounce for buying. This price is significantly higher than at the beginning of the week, February 2nd, when DOJI listed the buying price at 169.0 million VND/ounce, representing a profit of approximately 7.3 million VND/ounce.

At the Mi Hong system, the buying price on February 8th is currently at 177.0 million VND/ounce. Compared to the beginning of the week on February 2nd, when the buying price was 170.2 million VND/ounce, gold buyers at Mi Hong are now recording a profit of approximately 6.8 million VND/ounce, slightly lower than some other brands.

At PNJ, the buying price of SJC gold bars at noon on February 8th was listed at 176.3 million VND/ounce. This price has increased by approximately 7.3 million VND/ounce compared to the beginning of the week on February 2nd, when PNJ was buying at 169.0 million VND/ounce.

At Bao Tin Manh Hai, the buying price today, February 8th, reached 176.3 million VND/ounce. Compared to the beginning of the week, February 2nd, when the common buying price was around 169.0 million VND/ounce, buyers are currently making a profit of approximately 7.3 million VND/ounce.

At Bao Tin Minh Chau, the buying price of SJC gold bars on February 8th was also listed at 176.3 million VND/ounce. Compared to the 169.0 million VND/ounce recorded at the beginning of the week on February 2nd, buyers at this location are currently making a profit of approximately 7.3 million VND/ounce.

Finally, in Phu Quy, the buying price at noon on February 8th reached 176.3 million VND/ounce. This price is significantly higher than at the beginning of the week on February 2nd, when SJC gold bars were bought at 169.0 million VND/ounce, allowing buyers to record a profit of approximately 7.3 million VND/ounce, placing it among the highest in the market.

At 11:30 AM, the price of 9999 Hung Thinh Vuong gold rings from DOJI was listed at 176.0 million VND/ounce (buy) and 179.0 million VND/ounce (sell), recording an increase of 3 million VND in both buying and selling prices yesterday, with a difference of 2 million VND/ounce.

Bao Tin Minh Chau maintained the price of gold rings at 176.3 million VND/ounce for buying and 179.3 million VND/ounce for selling, an increase of 2.8 million VND compared to the previous session, with the difference between buying and selling prices remaining at 3 million VND/ounce.

Phu Quy Group also listed the price of gold rings at 176.0 million VND/ounce (buying) and 179.0 million VND/ounce (selling), an increase of 3 million VND/ounce in both buying and selling prices yesterday, with the buy-sell spread remaining stable at 3 million VND/ounce.

World gold prices at 11:30 AM on February 8, 2026, closed the week at $4,900 per ounce.
