For the National Highways managed by the Central Government, the section Km1700+350-Km1700+950 on National Highway 1 (in Ham Thang Ward, Lam Dong Province) has been completely drained and traffic has returned to normal. Notably, the slope between Km1700+550-Km1700+900, 350 meters long, collapsed and shifted, was urgently handled by the Road Management Area IV and repaired by 1:00 p.m. the same day.
For the National Highways managed by the locality, there are still seven traffic jams (including one section). The authorities are making efforts to implement remedial measures and strive to clear the route as soon as possible.
In Khanh Hoa province, National Highway 27C still has five congestion points at Km45+100, Km46+000, Km47+000, Km47+700 and Km49+400. Currently, the authorities prohibit all vehicles from traveling up Khanh Le pass and organize traffic flow along two alternative routes:
First direction, from Nha Trang follow National Highway 1 to Km1556+00, turn right to National Highway 27 to Km174+00, then enter Lien Khuong-Prenn expressway to Da Lat;
Second direction, from Nha Trang follow Highway 1 to Highway 26, then connect to Highway 27 to move up to Da Lat.
In Lam Dong province, there are still two traffic jams (including one section of the route). On National Highway 20, landslides continue to occur in the D'Ran Pass area; the provincial Department of Construction is urgently implementing cleanup. Due to prolonged rain causing cracks to develop, it is expected that on December 10, the road will be cleared for one-way traffic and on December 15, the repair will be basically completed and two-way traffic will be opened. The locality has organized traffic diversion on National Highway 20, National Highway 27 and DT.725.
In addition, on National Highway 28, the section from Km44+650-Km51+700 (concentrated at Km50-Km51) suffered a landslide, causing traffic jams. The management unit is mobilizing maximum human resources and equipment to handle the situation, and is expected to open one lane to traffic on December 7.
The Vietnam Road Administration said it is continuing to closely monitor weather developments and damage to traffic infrastructure; maintaining direction for Road Management Areas; and being ready to mobilize materials, machinery, and vehicles to support localities when necessary, to ensure traffic is restored safely and effectively in the shortest time possible.
The timely and drastic efforts of the authorities have contributed to minimizing damage and quickly stabilizing people's lives in heavily affected areas, demonstrating the high sense of responsibility of the transport sector in responding to and overcoming the consequences of natural disasters.
