In 2011, the Prime Minister decided to take August 12 (Lunar calendar) every year as "Vietnam Theater Day" to honor the country's theater industry and encourage theater artists to promote good traditional values.
At the ceremony, artists and actors reviewed the tradition of the Vietnamese theater industry and the Thai Nguyen theater activities over the past 7 decades. In 1950, Mr. Luong Van Dong led the Cai Luong troupe from Hai Duong to Luu Xa, Thai Nguyen to perform. In October 1952, in Pho Gia (Dong Cao commune, now Trung Thanh ward, Thai Nguyen province), this troupe was transformed into Quyet Tien Cai Luong Troupe, with artist Ngo Man as the troupe leader.

The troupe has staged many good plays that are loved by the people and has achieved many outstanding achievements in artistic activities. Many talented artists, big names of the traditional Vietnamese theater industry such as: Bach Tra, Quang Ton, Tho An... also grew up from the Quyet Tien Thai Nguyen Cai Luong Troupe.
The celebration is an opportunity for artists, actors, and cultural figures who have been working and living at art troupes, cultural centers, and the Provincial Literature and Arts Association to participate in performing activities and artistic exchanges, contributing to preserving and promoting cultural identity, enriching the spiritual life of people in the province.
