Practical tasks

In her newly renovated and spacious house, Ms. Vu Thi Nam, born in 1976, from Xuan Tan 2 village (Tan Yen commune), feels truly delighted. For her, a sturdy house is a lifelong dream.

Ms. Nam is a single mother raising her child and is classified as a poor household. She herself does not have a stable job, her income is precarious, and she suffers from cancer. For many years, she and her child have lived in a cramped, severely dilapidated single-story house, which greatly affects the family's living conditions.

Comrade Nguyen Phuong Mai (second from the right) , President of the Provincial Women's Union, presents support to female members suffering from serious illnesses in Vu Ninh ward.

Understanding Ms. Nam's difficult circumstances, the Tan Yen Commune Fatherland Front Committee and the Commune Women's Union recently allocated nearly 90 million VND from the "Shelter of Love" Fund and the "For the Poor" Fund to help Ms. Nam repair her house, including replacing the corrugated iron roof, installing a plastic ceiling, painting, and tiling the floor.

In addition, the Women's Association of the commune also provided support for medical expenses, donated clothes and money, and introduced benefactors to sponsor monthly support for her children's education. Ms. Nam emotionally shared: "I am very grateful for the care and support from all levels of government and the Women's Association of the commune. This is a great source of encouragement for my children and me to feel secure, stabilize our lives, and strive for a better future."

At the Women's Union of Que Vo Ward, supporting poor and vulnerable women is always a priority. Accordingly, the Union and its branches actively implement many charitable and humanitarian activities, caring for the lives of members, women, and children in difficult circumstances.

Since the beginning of the year, the Association has organized visits and coordinated the giving of gifts to 85 disadvantaged women and children, and provided "Godmother" support to one orphan child, totaling nearly 40 million VND. Ms. Nguyen Thi Khuyen, President of the Women's Union of Que Vo Ward, shared: "Each gift and support not only has material value but also represents sharing, encouragement, and renewed faith and motivation to help our female members overcome difficulties and strive for a better future."

Improving the lives of members

Over the past period, the Provincial Women's Union has organized many practical and meaningful activities aimed at supporting poor and disadvantaged women members. Since the beginning of the year, the various levels of the Union have mobilized members and benefactors to donate over 5,600 gifts to families of members, women, and branch leaders facing difficult circumstances, serious illnesses, and policy beneficiary families in the province, totaling over 2.9 billion VND; and completed and repaired 24 houses under the "Houses of Love" program with a total cost of over 800 million VND.

With the support of the Women's Union and local authorities, the family of Ms. Dinh Thi Hong (on the right) in Dinh village, Son Dong commune, has actively developed its economy and risen out of poverty.

100% of the Women's Union branches selected and maintained one practical and effective activity/model following President Ho Chi Minh's example, donating 184 livelihood models worth nearly 2 billion VND. These models generated nearly 1.8 billion VND and over 800 kg of rice, helping 423 poor women and children in difficult circumstances.

"Currently, many social issues directly impact women's health, employment, and income. Therefore, the Provincial Women's Union will continue to play its role as a bridge, mobilizing additional resources to support vulnerable women. At the same time, it will implement and develop models, groups, organizations, and clubs to support each other's economic development," said Ms. Vu Thi An, Vice President of the Provincial Women's Union.

Women's associations at all levels proactively review and categorize women according to their specific characteristics to provide appropriate support solutions. For poor women, the focus is on helping them develop economic models through unsecured loans from banks and savings from women's mutual aid groups; providing support in terms of seedlings, livestock, and labor; and encouraging them to participate in vocational training and technical workshops to apply to production, animal husbandry, and the restructuring of crop and livestock farming.

In addition, women's associations at all levels have focused on implementing projects and programs such as: supporting women's entrepreneurship; effectively carrying out the campaign to build families based on the "5 no's, 3 clean, 3 safe" principles; and establishing clubs to prevent and combat domestic violence, creating a safe living environment for vulnerable women.

In addition, they provide health insurance cards, medical examination vouchers, and financial assistance for medical treatment to women in difficult circumstances… Through these efforts, they contribute to the effective implementation of social welfare work and strengthen national unity.

Ms. Vu Thi An, Vice President of the Provincial Women's Union, affirmed: "Supporting and assisting vulnerable women continues to be identified as one of the Union's key tasks in 2026. Currently, many social issues directly impact women's health, employment, and income. Therefore, the Union will continue to play a bridging role, mobilizing additional resources to support vulnerable women. At the same time, we will implement and develop models, groups, and clubs to support each other's economic development, thereby helping members and women improve their lives and enhance their roles and status in the family and society."
