At the meeting, the leaders of Ho Chi Minh City affirmed that they always attach importance to the friendship and comprehensive cooperation with Laos, especially in the fields of public financial management, auditing and budget transparency. This relationship is not only political and historical, but is also increasingly materialized through practical cooperation activities between central and local agencies of the two countries.
According to Vice Chairman Nguyen Van Dung, after completing the administrative boundary merger with Binh Duong and Ba Ria - Vung Tau, the city's area increased to more than 6,700km², with a population exceeding 14 million people. With its new position, Ho Chi Minh City aims to develop a multi-center urban model, prioritizing investment in high technology, smart cities, logistics and seaports, creating a foundation for regional connectivity and deep integration.

The city's leaders hope to strengthen cooperation with the Lao State Audit through sharing practical experiences, organizing training programs, and training staff, as well as building a close coordination mechanism between relevant agencies of the two countries.
The Chairman of the Lao State Audit Office highly appreciated the development achievements of Ho Chi Minh City and expected the city to continue to play the role of an economic locomotive and a reference model for localities in the region. Mr. Viengthavisone Thephachanh also proposed the development of legal documents and a synchronous coordination mechanism, thereby promoting in-depth bilateral audit cooperation.
