Construction progress of final items
The project to build the new Tang Long Bridge on La Xuan Oai Street, Thu Duc City, is entering the completion stage. After the left section of the bridge was opened to traffic on February 28, serving the traffic direction from Lo Lu Street to D2 Street, the construction unit has focused resources on the right section in the opposite direction since April 1.
To date, the left unit has been put into stable operation for more than 9 months. Meanwhile, the right unit has been under construction for about 8 months with main items such as the bridgehead retaining wall, approach roads, bored piles for the abutment foundation and bridge piers gradually taking shape. According to the latest plan, the right unit is expected to be completed and open to traffic on February 28, 2026, completing the entire project.

Previously, the project had adjusted its progress. The original plan was to complete the left unit in December 2024 and the entire project in 2025. However, in reality, it took until the end of February 2025 to complete the left unit.
Overview of scale and investment capital
The new Tang Long Bridge has a total length of 790m, of which the main bridge is 231m long. The project is designed into two separate branches, each 11m wide, accommodating two car lanes and has a sidewalk. The total land area used for the project is 2.62 hectares.
The total investment of the project is over 741 billion VND, using capital from the city budget. Of which, the construction cost is 688 billion VND and the compensation and site clearance cost is 53.1 billion VND for 34 affected households.

A journey of many years interrupted
The Tang Long Bridge project started in December 2017 but had to be temporarily suspended since September 2019 due to problems in site clearance. At the time of the suspension, the project had completed some main structural parts of the left branch.
During the prolonged interruption, people had to travel over the old, narrow and degraded iron bridge. This situation turned the area into a traffic "black spot", with frequent serious congestion, greatly affecting travel at the eastern gateway of Ho Chi Minh City.

Impact on regional infrastructure and real estate
The completion of the entire Tang Long Bridge is expected to completely resolve the traffic congestion on La Xuan Oai, Lo Lu streets and the surrounding area of the High-Tech Park. The project will not only help reduce the load on the old, degraded bridge but also strengthen the connection between urban areas, contributing to promoting economic development and urban beautification.
In parallel with this project, Lo Lu route is also being expanded with a total investment of 755 billion VND, creating a synchronous traffic network. When the infrastructure is completed, real estate projects in the area are expected to benefit directly, such as Saigon Villas Hill, Dong Tang Long urban area, and Gamuda Land's Elysian project.
