From the afternoon of February 4th, Ho Chi Minh City began testing traffic adjustments on the Tan Van overpass to facilitate the construction of the Tan Van interchange, part of the Ring Road 3 project.

The Tan Van overpass will be tested with two-way lane separation for cars to reduce traffic congestion.
According to the Department of Construction, the temporary traffic arrangements were implemented based on the consensus of the units at the meeting on January 9, 2026, with the participation of representatives from the Traffic Police Department of Ho Chi Minh City, the Investment and Construction Project Management Board of Binh Duong province, the Rach Chiec Traffic Police Team, the Road Infrastructure Management Center, and specialized departments under the Department.
In phase 1, the authorities opened two sections of the median strip on National Highway 1, each approximately 30 meters long; at the same time, they used one lane on the left side of the Tan Van overpass (next to the bridge railing) to organize traffic flow for cars heading from the Thu Duc intersection towards the Dong Nai bridge.
On the bridge, concrete barriers combined with plastic traffic cones have been installed to separate the two lanes of traffic, ensuring traffic safety during construction.
Meanwhile, phase 2 is being studied, which aims to allow two-wheeled vehicles to travel under the local road beneath the Tan Van overpass (heading from Dong Nai Bridge towards Thu Duc intersection), thereby facilitating two-way traffic for cars on the overpass.
The Department of Construction requests the Binh Duong Provincial Investment and Construction Project Management Board to urgently coordinate with the Center for Road Infrastructure Management to finalize the traffic adjustment plan for phases 1 and 2 as soon as possible.
Regarding the parallel road to Ring Road 3, the Department of Construction requested that all legal procedures be completed soon to put it into operation, and that relevant units be coordinated to complete the signage system and lane markings before officially organizing traffic flow.
