A decades-old pine tree fell and crushed a young woman who was selling flowers to celebrate Valentine's Day on the sidewalk of Phan Chu Trinh Street, leaving the victim in critical condition on the fourth day of Tet.
At noon on February 13, a pine tree in the grounds of the Buon Ma Thuot Diocese Bishop's Palace suddenly fell, crushing a 17-year-old girl who was selling flowers to celebrate Valentine's Day on the sidewalk of Phan Chu Trinh Street, Thang Loi Ward.

At the scene, the girl suffered multiple injuries and was in a coma. Tree branches were blocking the sidewalk and road. People nearby came to help and took the victim to the emergency room.
Authorities then cleared the scene, clarified the cause of the accident, and inspected the status of several other pine trees inside the Buon Ma Thuot Bishopric to avoid similar incidents.
A representative of Thien Hanh General Hospital said that doctors actively resuscitated the victim. The initial diagnosis was that the girl had a broken femur, broken heel bone, multiple broken ribs, spinal cord injury, and brain injury...
