Mr. Dang Van Thang (owner of the Lonely Pine Tree tea shop - opposite the pine tree) said that before Tet, the tree started showing signs of termites at the base. Then, the termites gradually spread and the tree started to lose many leaves.

After Tet, the tree began to lose all its leaves and is now dead. This pine tree was planted by Mr. Thang in 1979. Mr. Thang is currently in contact with another pine tree in the Central Highlands to transport and plant as a replacement.

The leader of the People's Committee of Hoa Hiep Bac ward said that he had received the above information and would ask the forest rangers to come up with a plan to replace the pine tree.
