Specifically, during a patrol of the area, authorities discovered Mr. Nguyen Thanh Truc (Dong Tay Hai village, Hoang Thanh commune) using his family's raft to transport tourists for sightseeing. This is a serious violation of regulations on inland waterway safety. Border guards issued a violation report, conducted on-site awareness campaigns, and demanded that the owner immediately cease this dangerous practice to ensure the safety of tourists.
Following the above incident, to ensure absolute safety for the people and tourists during the peak tourist season at Hai Tien beach, the Hoang Thanh Commune Tourism Management Board and the Hoang Truong Border Guard Station advise the public and tourists that rafts, which are rudimentary means of transport, are only designed specifically for fishing near the shore.
Therefore, using this type of vessel to transport passengers poses unpredictable risks because rafts lack protective coverings and are easily capsized or sunk when encountering large waves or when carrying more people than permitted.
Furthermore, the boat owners lack professional training in passenger transport and the skills to handle emergencies at sea. Not to mention the lack of life-saving equipment such as standard life jackets and other necessary rescue devices on the rafts...
The Hoang Truong Border Guard Station and the Hoang Thanh Commune Tourism Management Board urge residents to absolutely refrain from using rafts, rudimentary fishing vessels to transport tourists in any form; not to disregard human lives for short-term economic gain; and to strictly comply with all laws and regulations on waterway safety. Cases of deliberate violations will be severely punished according to the law.
For the safety of yourself and your family, tourists should absolutely not rent or use rafts or fishing vessels for sightseeing at sea.
