Having completed her 12th grade studies this year, Ho Thi Thao Vy (a student in class 12/1 at Kham Duc Ethnic Boarding Secondary and High School) has plans for her dream of pursuing higher education.
Thảo Vy, along with 10 other students, recently celebrated her coming-of-age ceremony with her "Godmothers," marking the beginning of a new chapter in her life. Thảo Vy lost her parents at a young age and was fortunate enough to be taken in and raised by a local family, who provided her with the opportunity to continue her education.
By the time she was in 9th grade, Thảo Vy was adopted as a "godmother" by Ms. Nguyễn Thị Kim Uyển from the former Tam Kỳ city. From that time on, in addition to providing a monthly allowance of 500,000 VND, Ms. Uyển accompanied and supported Vy until she finished high school. "The love and care of my godmother have given me more confidence and strength to strive forward," Thảo Vy confided.
In response to the love and care of those who have taken her in, Thao Vy, like many other orphaned students in the five mountainous communes of Kham Duc, Phuoc Nang, Phuoc Chanh, Phuoc Thanh, and Phuoc Hiep, gradually overcame adversity, strived in her studies, and achieved good results.
Over the past five years, the "Godmother" program in five mountainous communes of Kham Duc, Phuoc Nang, Phuoc Chanh, Phuoc Thanh, and Phuoc Hiep has connected with one organization and 24 individuals who have sponsored 67 orphaned and disadvantaged students in the area.
In addition to providing an average of 500,000 VND per case per month, the "Godmothers" also regularly visit, encourage, give gifts, bicycles, and build shelters for the children, with a total expenditure of nearly 850 million VND.
In their journey of spreading love, these "Godmothers," living and working in various locations such as Da Nang, Ho Chi Minh City, Nha Trang, etc., have silently accompanied the children for many years.

Building on the initial success of 18 students graduating from high school, with many continuing their dreams at university, the "Godmother" program continues to connect with more compassionate hearts so that no student has to abandon their dream of going to school due to difficult circumstances.
At the "Thanking Godmothers - Sharing Love" ceremony recently organized by the Women's Union of 5 mountainous communes of Kham Duc, Phuoc Nang, Phuoc Chanh, Phuoc Thanh, and Phuoc Hiep, the "Godmothers" accepted 10 more students, sponsoring them from June 2026 until they finish 12th grade.
According to Mr. Nguyen Quoc Nguyen, Permanent Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee of Kham Duc commune, the "Godmother" program, initiated and promoted by the Women's Union of the former Phuoc Son district, has become a meaningful highlight.
More importantly, these acts of kindness not only provide material support but also bring the children love and companionship, helping them to stand firm on the path ahead.
