According to the Department of Natural Resources and Environment of Binh Duong province, the race with the theme "Run for health - Run for the environment" is one of the meaningful activities in the joyful and exciting atmosphere of Youth Month, celebrating the 93rd anniversary of the founding of the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union (March 26, 1931 - March 26, 2024) and promoting the campaign "All people exercise following the example of great Uncle Ho" to create a movement of physical exercise, improve health, build office culture among civil servants, public employees and workers.
Along with that, the "Run for Health - Run for the Environment" tournament also aims to encourage everyone to participate in the "Earth Hour 2024" Campaign, actively contributing to raising awareness of people and society about using energy economically and effectively, protecting the environment, and responding to climate change.
The organizers said the race attracted hundreds of athletes from units under the Department of Natural Resources and Environment and other units, running clubs, and people.
Earth Hour is a global campaign initiated by the World Wide Fund for Nature to raise public awareness about climate change and energy saving around the world .
Earth Hour was first held in Sydney in 2007 with the participation of 2.2 million people. To date, Earth Hour has become one of the world's largest environmental campaigns, responded to in more than 180 countries and territories. In 2024, the event of turning off the lights for one hour in response to Earth Hour will take place from 8:30 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. on March 23 (tonight).
