On January 24th, Le Van Thinh Hospital (Ho Chi Minh City) announced that it had received and provided initial emergency care to victims of the Ehome S apartment building fire (Long Truong Ward, Ho Chi Minh City).
Accordingly, at around 4 a.m. on the same day, the Emergency Department received three people suffering from respiratory failure due to smoke inhalation: Ms. NTL (32 years old) and her two daughters, LTN (6 years old) and LNLD (9 years old).
Baby LTN suffered burns covering approximately 20% of her body, from her thigh down to her foot. Doctors treated her wounds, intubated her for mechanical ventilation, and transferred her to Children's Hospital 2.
Baby LNLĐ suffered cardiac arrest and respiratory failure, with approximately 6% of her body burned by second-degree burns. Doctors made efforts to resuscitate her with cardiopulmonary resuscitation before transferring her to Children's Hospital 1 for further specialized treatment.
Meanwhile, the mother suffered burns in multiple areas of her body, with approximately 19% of her hands and feet burned, and was being monitored for respiratory burns. The victim experienced cardiac arrest outside the hospital, but was successfully resuscitated. She was then transferred to Cho Ray Hospital.
Video from the scene shows a large fire engulfing the windows and balcony area of the apartment. At the time of the fire, only the mother and her two children were home.
At the scene, two victims who had suffered cardiac arrest and respiratory failure were given first aid by local residents before being transported to the hospital for emergency treatment.
